I had a LOL CHICKEN FOOT moment today, and so I capped a few pics. Disclaimer: I really do love Ten II. Really. (And also my personal canon is an altverse TARDIS.)
I still think the reason RTD wrote this out is because they made the piece of coral look like a giant deep-fried monstrosity, and not, say, an actual piece of coral.

In my cannon the Doctor is enjoying being Rose's Doctor!Pillow on the zeppelin ride home when suddenly he realizes there is TARDIS coral in his pocket. Then he wakes Rose to tell her about it and she is all 'wut...is sleeping...' and then drools on him or something. IT ARE FACT.
LOL THIS SCENE. I'm not totally against the altTARDIS on principle but this whole scene is so awkwardly written and everything. Oh RTD. Not your best. NOR YOURS, PROP TEAM.

I mean the chicken foot as the TARDIS they fly around in the altverse. Although I've seen plenty of fics with an altverse Doctor and TARDIS. (Even wrote one myself.)
Exactly. As much as I want the Alt!TARDIS to be cannon I am glad they cut this scene. It was awkward and the characters seem really OOC too me. Especially Donna actually, I know she was all under the influence of the Doctor's brain here, but something about her rubs me the wrong way in this whole scene, where as I love every bit of everything she does in that episode (and ALL her episodes) otherwise.
Plus LOL chicken foot. Didn't anyone look at that and think “this looks stupid”? Isn't there somebody whose job it is to point that kind of stuff out?
Well said. I like the idea of them being able to travel in a TARDIS but it kinda felt like 10 was chucking 10.2 & Rose out in the trash with little bits of misc. junk he had laying about, lol.
I'm never been quite sure how I feel about this deleted scene (but then, same goes for the episode itself, lol).
The edit that aired leaves you going "what purpose did Donna actually serve in this scene?" She says what, two words? The 'don't you know what he's giving you?' - or something like that.
They have a Tardis, that's my story, period. The Doctor, with Rose Tyler, in the Tardis. That's how it meant to be. The stuff of legends still live, yeah!
