Having emotion is bad too. Unless it is MANLY EMOTION like rage or revenge or ~smugness~ or something.

Well, yeah.

But don't forget that being strong is also aggressive, immature, and bitchy if by chance the character is question is one that we feel gets in the way of another character's awesomeness. The same holds true for independent thinking. It is only okay once we've decided we like the character, otherwise it is an unforgivable flaw.

The big lesson is this: If you like the character then ALL of their traits are good. If you don't like the character, ALL of those same traits are bad. It's really very simple.

I think you left out "must never fall in love." Because caring about people is all girly and stuff and women are only valuable if they don't care about anyone else, or (HEAVENS) get married or (OMG NO) have children.

I think you have to turn in your feminist card if you have a family. A true feminist only has flings.

Well obviously women only get married and have children when they have no other aspirations in life and have lost all notion of personality and become nothing but clingy blobs attached to their men!

lolol our marriage vows didn't even include anything about "death doing us part" or "forever and ever" or anything like that, because fuck knows what's going to happen in the future and we didn't want to make the other feel like they were breaking vows by getting out if things turn bad. But then again, we trust each other to not to abuse that privilege.

I always approach these situations with arguments to the contrary. To deflect criticism on another character is an admittance that your character is a bit crap. Basically 'So yes, my character's crap but yours is crapper' The best way I find is the 'Rose has' example

Rose has an axe to rescue the doctor...she's so selfish don't you think?
Rose has a bolt gun to rescue the doctor...she's not brave at all?
Rose has a giant blasting gun to save the world from the Daleks...she's useless right?
etc...

In another fandom, Smallville
Kara has been staying in the phantom zone to protect humanity...she's not a hero?
Kara has flown back in time...she's so useless?
Kara has saved a street full of spectators...she's a vain bitch?

I was gonna say PIC SPAMS are a great way to show how awesome characters are because then no one can argue that it did, in fact happen and that their blinders must have prevented them from seeing it!!!!
