As seen on
meeshyickle's journal.
Is it ironic that I'm wasting time on a writing meme instead of writing my fic? However, there's probably nothing a fic writer loves more than talking about writing. It's like candy or something. yum.
Keyboard or hand writing?
Keyboard or hand writing?
- Keyboard. All the way. About the only thing I hand write for *anything* is when I have to sign my name.
- Beta beta beta. The first few fics I wrote were unbetaed but then I bit the bullet and asked
- Heh. Very few of my fics have an actual plot. I'm more of a vignette/humor writer.
- DIEDIEDIEDIE.
- Smushy. Got spoiled by
- Necessary evil. Heh. Side note. For one of my fics I said it was "cat-in-the-dryer fluffy." Got an email from someone on how that WAS NOT RIGHT. CATS WILL DIE IN THE DRYER. Whoopsie.
- Gonna have to go with the Dark and Stormy trilogy.
- Hmmm. The Mixer maybe? That one still gets rec'd.
- For sheer hilarity, it would be the Dark and Stormy fics. Jojo and I wrote those as back and forth emails and I would be in tears when she'd send me another part. As far as joy of writing, it'd have to be the current Doctor Who fic I'm working on.
- I really do like that character death fic Once in a Lifetime. Tried to balance angst and fluff and was pretty happy with it. Yeah, that's the one that was first betaed. Worst? The Flower. Just, you know, shoot me. :(
- It's been a while since I've thought about a lot of these. I'm hoping that the current DW fic will be pretty good, but it's not done yet so... I really like The Road Warrior fic, probably because it just makes me happy thinking of Sam and Jack like that in a couple of years. Plus, I inserted this thing that I'm sure no one noticed, but made me happy - Jack's driving matched whatever mood was going on in the car. Heh heh. Another worst? Um, my one and only Gilmore Girls fic. It was meant to be a series of fics, but I lost interest. The result is a fairly pointless stand-alone fic.
- I'd like to think humor.
- Narritive. Who needs it when you have dialog? People should just fill in the blanks with their minds, right? Yes. Yes, they should.
- I NEVER write my fic from start to finish. It usually starts with a line I really like, which gets jotted down. A few weeks later, a few more lines. The ending. The beginning. Then I play connect-the-dots with the whole thing. Current DW fic? All started with a line in the very last scene which amused me while driving home one day. Realized I had to use it in some way.
Also, very rarely do I tell myself I *have* to write anything. I'm so completely "if it feels good, do it" when I write. When I'm not interested, I don't bother. It's probably good I don't write professionally, because I would suck at *having* to write.
