Gilmore Girls - 7x01 The Long Morrow
Holy. Crap. I actually did *not* hate Lorelai and Rory!!!11! This really did kinda feel like "Highway to Hell Damage Control." Lorelai finally verbalized what we'd all been yelling last year, namely that Luke shut her out and she needed to let go. Even Suki said that Luke treated her like crap. Dare I hope the characters are turning smart again? And Luke wised up! It was too late, of course, but still! And the Christopher thing came out now instead of six eps down the road! WOO! I may actually have hope for this show again.
Poor Rory and her confusing relationship with Logan. Okay, while I wasn't hating Rory, I did want her to talk to Logan honestly. Why couldn't she do that? Can't have the big-girl relationship without being able to talk. Okay, maybe that part did bug me a bit, but not BUG me.
But maybe I was just too pleased that Luke and Lorelai was OVER to be bugged. I wouldn't mind them getting back together again down the road sometime. Hell, I used to love this pairing. But with the utterly unhealthy mess that was going on last season, they *needed* to break up. That was painful, and not in a "you're destroying my pair" kind of way either. Don't think you could pay me to watch S6 again.
Hate to get my hopes up after just one ep, but this was *so* much better than anything that happened last season.
ETA: I was trying to figure out how Lorelai had done the sort-of hair bun she had going in the beginning, but then figured that it was done by professional TV hair stylists and there's no way I'd be able to do my hair like that anyway.
