I'm naming the octopus Tigh...

The episode was, for the most part, predictable. Not to say it wasn't well-done or entertaining. Just that you knew fallout was going to happen and you knew "justice" and "vengeance" was going to be blurred. Killing Gaeta could have gone either way with much the same outcome - the guilt over the fact that maybe others weren't as "guilty" as what was on paper, which is what the Chief was already discovering. Not sure how wise it was, having the leaders of the insurgence sitting in judgment though. But like Laura said at the end, there probably was no one that could have impartially sat in judgment.

One thing that was surprising to me, however, was the end of Kara and Anders. The character of Kara is somewhat of an enigma to me. So many of her reactions to things I just cannot relate to or even understand. But that's part of what makes her an interesting character. However, this "go away before I hurt you" thing - I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I could chalk it up to yet another thing I can't relate to, but in some ways this felt more like something you only see in fiction. In other words, or word, contrived. Maybe I needed to see more than one cold shoulder at the bunks. I *suppose* her M.O. is to tell people to frak off when things get too personal or uncomfortable (or just had a 3-month-long mind fuck by the cylons), but I think I still needed to see something more. This way felt a bit "reset button" now that they're back on Galactica.

Side note - the robot cylons are completely unsettling. Just really big kudos to art direction/direction on those things. I love that they've figured out that having a robot motionless (except the eye) is shudder-worthy - the old "less is more" thing. It can make me say "oh fuck" just by standing there. And then when it suddenly moves, it turns into an "OH FUCK." Now if *only* we could get a "by your command." They would OWN me. *crosses fingers for S3*
