I watched the last 15 minutes or so of the episode when it first aired, but finally watched the first part.

Jack! YOU ARE A MORON. Gah! He can't see the forest for the trees. "She's under my protection." *slaps upside the head* They so totally got his number with his obsessive need to "fix" people. Before it was with Kate and thinking he could make her better - if he just tried hard enough, she'd become this fantastic person who would never lie, etc. And now he's doing the exact same thing with Juliette. It's such a huge blinding drive in him, that it's detrimental to everyone else around him. Jack needs a swift kick in the ass. *votes off the island*

And since I saw the end before, I knew this whole thing was being staged by Juliette. But I had a feeling even before this episode. She's done nothing but manipulate Jack from day 1.


Catch 22

Who is this chick at the end? Have we seen her before? It's not that one woman he almost married, is it? Before Penny?

Kind of a really weird thought process going on in Desmond's mind, that I can't quite follow. If he stops something from happening, then...something else won't happen? I don't quite get it.

At first I was irked at Kate for this whole melodrama world she's created, and then I was thinking that she's probably bored out of her mind. Oh sure you have the occasional kidnapping where you have to hop around for fish biscuits, but otherwise there's just not a lot to fill your day with if you don't get involved in love triangles and the like.

I think I might be getting into Lost again. Seems better this season. It helps with lines like "we have to play every 108 minutes or the island explodes." :D And it also helps that we're starting to get some real answers to things.
