The Romans (One, Ian, Barbara, Vicki)
The Space Pirates (Two, Jamie, Zoe)
- Oh, this is unusual. The Doctor & Co. decide to just hang out and live in Roman times for a while. It's been a month since they landed, and there doesn't seem to be any particular reason. Not that I think that's *bad* - I'd imagine it'd be nice to just park and chill for a while. No need to be battling monsters 24/7.
- And the Doctor throws a temper-tantrum about going off to Rome without wanting Ian and Barbara coming with him.
- I'll admit I don't know really anything about class/society during the time of Nero, but would slave traders be able to get away with kidnapping some "people from Britannia" just because they weren't from there? But at least they took Ian as well – I'd been hrmph-ing if they'd just taken Barbara.
- One's pretty good in a fight! Well...campy mock-fight. But still. :D Never underestimate the Doctor! And ha! He talks about being so used to outwitting people, he'd forgotten he likes to get into a physical fight. Bwah! Like I mentioned the other day, if Ten ever broke out the Venusian Aikido, I would undoubtedly wet myself from the laughter.
- Heh. A strange sort of subplot about the Empress trying to kill Barbara (who's now a slave in Nero's court) because Nero's got his eye on her and the Empress feels threatened. I *kinda* think that the Nero would be having sex with random servants/slaves without it dethroning the Empress. Maybe I'm wrong...
- And the Doctor winds up giving Nero the idea to burn Rome. You know, in many ways, the Earth is of the Doctor's own making. :D
The Space Pirates (Two, Jamie, Zoe)
- One of those episodes where most of it has been lost. Sadness.
- Aww! AWWW! I think the spaceships might *actually* be cardboard!! *FLAILS AND LOVES*
- I always wonder about fashion statements of The Future. Everyone loves to be so shiny.
- Man, this one was just really hard to pay attention to. *sighs* Reconstructions are always hard for me though, but this episode in particular I think really suffered from it. I'll admit, I spent most the time playing computer games off to the side on this one. Let's see. Something to say. Um, Two is cute? Right. That is all.
