New episode of The Riches last night.

There is a SEVERE shortage of The Riches icons. This saddens me. Also, its fandom doesn't seem very large or active. I'm getting Arrested Development flashbacks.

• I pretty much had the feeling we'd be seeing Pete killed off, just from how last season ended. Really, either he'd be killed, or the Riches would be no more. And since the show is called "The Riches..." But at least they showed how this was absolutely never an option to Wayne, who was pretty horrified by psychotic Dale.
  
  
• Nina surprised me. I didn't expect her to go with them. The interesting thing with her, judging by the previews they showed at the end, is that she'll wind up going back home. And she'll really start living a lie right along with the Riches. That's one (of many) things that's fascinated me about this show: this family doesn't live in a vacuum. For trying to be a bit under the radar, they have huge impacts on people around them.
  
  
• I find the whole subplot about Cherien's mother incredibly bizarre and incredibly sweet. When they assumed the Riches' lives, they discovered a mother in a nursing home with dementia (or was it alzheimer's?). Whatever it is, I'm suspicious that she knows more than she's letting on. But she's happier to be out of the nursing home, and the family has actually grown to think of her as their own mother and grandmother. When they went on the run in this episode, they packed her up with them. The thought that it would be kidnapping never even seemed to enter their minds, and from seasoned con artists, you'd think it would be.
  
  
• And speaking of bizarre, the scenes between Wayne, Doug and Hugh were just nuts. In a good way. Very dark humor going on there, and I loved every minute of it.
  
  
• Eddie Izzard really has acting chops. This stood out for me in this episode. You'd think based on his standup that he'd play things over-the-top, but he really really doesn't.

Does anyone else watch this show? I can't quite figure out (or remember if it was said) why Dale's last name is Malloy too. I thought he was Dahlia's cousin, not Wayne's. Unless Wayne took Dahlia's last name when they got married. Actually, knowing Wayne's childhood and Dahlia's status in the Traveler society, it really wouldn't surprise me if he took her last name. It could have even been one of the conditions on allowing him to marry her.
