The real bitch about it was that while Carter had also been turned into a gopher, he couldn't quite tell her apart from any other gopher. He thought he spotted her once when he saw one of his fellow breed taking a special interest in an underground telephone wire. So he attempted to mate with the apparent scientifically-inclined ball of fur, only to discover that the object of his affections was not only not in the mood, but *he* seemed quite pissed at Jack. 'Daniel?' Jack tried to ask, but it only came out as squeekings. The possible Daniel gopher trotted off, leaving Jack's getting-some probability looking grim. "Squeak." Jack muttered.
