Torchwood

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Yeah, I almost thought nothing could be as disturbing as Children of Earth, but RTD manages to stay right up there. The worst bit is that like CoE, the reactions/justifications of people are not unimaginable. Apathy, following orders, thinking something is for the greater good - all these things can lead to twisted consequences, and the last 2 series of Torchwood have really highlighted that.

And Doctor Vera burning alive? D: D: D: D: I totally didn't expect that. Seeing a politician crushed inside a car (but still alive) is disturbing enough, but when it's one of the heroes of the piece, and especially one so fabulous? D: D: D: D:

I would really like to know what Jack's connection is to the whole thing. That one guy said some...stuff. Something about something Jack gave them in the past? Weird. But leave it to Jack to mess things up. :D

I was kind of laughing when Esther was asking Jack about himself. "Oh yes, I'm from this place called Boe in a distant galaxy. Oh, and I'm from the 51st century, have hyperactive pheromones and a kiss of life. One day I hooked up with a time traveler and this woman from London and she made me immortal and then they ditched me. My life goal is to someday become a giant face, live in a tank and go through mpreg. Because it'd be AWESOME."

Random - this whole format of how many ever episodes is good for this story, I think. Unlike Doctor Who or the hour-long Torchwood eps, in this they have to slog through all the badness to get to the end, instead of quickly solving the problem and then taking off. Crap happens in this format. Lots of crap. It gets dirty and messy and dystopian. That's sort of awesome in a fucked up way.
