And another thing...

I subscribe to the

jellojuicejo reasoning that Moebius took place between the time Daniel came back au natural in Threads and the fishing trip in Threads. Sure you could call into question the whole Threads episode, but if you did that, why stop there? You could actually call into question every single thing that's happened over the eight years. We have no way of knowing what's different. But I think that would be far too cruel and so I choose to believe that none of it has changed.

Except for the damn fish.

But I like the thought that there's been some time between Jacob's death and the fishing trip.

Side note: When real!Daniel showed up in the tent...mmmmm. *POUNCE* I'm just sayin'. ;)

And the fish? I'd bet that was a total throwaway bit a la the Simpsons ep. One of thos Ha Ha moments that was there for the funny and will never be mentioned again.

Before AU! Jack settled down to live out his life in Ancient Egypt, he took the time ship, and went to Minnesota, and stocked the pond with fish just before Jack bought the cabin. So there have ALWAYS been fish there, so far as Jack knows. Then AU! Jack went back in time and spent the rest of his life having lots of sex with AU! Sam.
