GEEYEAH. Stop with the Sherlock-Doctor Who crossovers already! Just because they have the same writers doesn't make them smushable. I seriously wouldn't care about it (like I don't care about other crossovers I'm not interested in) but lately it's become a thing. THEY'RE NOT EVEN THE SAME GENRE. Seriously, Mycroft/Lestrade is starting to look favorable in comparison.

It's everywhere in Sherlock fandom! Make it stop! And I'll bite anyone who says 'Wholock' to me.

P.S. Stop messing with the posting screen, LJ. It looks like crap now.

Wait ... don't they basically have the same protagonist though? =X

It's NEVER too late to Wholock! And don't worry: I Wholocked earlier with you in mind. :)

Heh. I know how you feel. And I actually wouldn't mind so much if there was some variety, but all I've seen use Eleven, Amy, sometimes Rory. Which, yeah...

I'll be here in the other corner marked 'SuperWho'.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, what's SuperWho??

Supernatural/Doctor Who.

It's because one of the previous Supernatural episodes had someone use the alias "Amy Pond" and in a previous season a conspiracy theorist had a magazine with a Cyberman on the front. (And, also, we're kind of nuts.)

They've actually started a Superwho Big Bang. Dedication! :D

Okay, I fear the day they mention Doctor Who on Sherlock. XD

After reading fanfiction for well over a decade I came up with a "Two Degrees" rule for crossovers. Basically, things work better if the two fandoms can reasonably be in the same world.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2011-10-26 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
I totally agree. I could much more easily see a Sherlock-Law and Order crossover or a Doctor Who-Star Trek crossover.

Believe or not, I once saw a Doctor Who/Gossip Girl crossover. EXPLAIN THIS TO ME WORLD, BECAUSE I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND.

I'll take SuperWho, and I've read some good Doctor Who/Firefly crossovers, but the above just doesn't compute for me.

:D Now that's a stretch!

Okay, I can totally see Firefly and Doctor Who. That fits.

Dude. Fandom is weird sometimes. I saw Blaine(Glee) and Tony Stark crossovers on tumblr...

I've seen a couple of graphics that make me think Wholock would be cool. But in general, I turn my nose up at it like you. haha

I've read ONE Doctor Who/Firefly fic that was any good. But it was REALLY good. :)

See, I wouldn't mind really, if it was just here and there and people writing fun little fics. But it seems to have become the ~cool thing and it's breeding and multiplying and URG.

I've read ONE Doctor Who/Firefly fic that was any good. But it was REALLY good. :)

That crossover makes sense!

(By the way, I read your latest chapter of "Freak" and OMG POOR SHERLOCK. JOHN NEEDS TO FIND HIM SOON. AND THEN CUDDLE HIM FOR A FEW YEARS.)

[identity profile] shinkonokokoro.livejournal.com 2011-10-26 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I don't know where a Glee and Iron Man crossover would come from...

The fic is here if you're interested. :)

And THANKS! Out of the frying pan and into the fire, poor Sherlock bb. :) Thanks for reading though!
