Did you know you can stop gifs from moving just by hitting the ESC key? I DID NOT KNOW THIS. Very handy for when you get to a web page and there are too many moving things.



ETA: Apparently this only works with certain browsers. Firefox and IE so far.

Lollll it's like all browsers, isn't it? You pick your favourite and then stick to it until you find something new. I used to use Firefox but these days I am ALL OVER CHROME. And I assume once the google bubble bursts, I will find something else.

Yeah, my work computer is old and has problems with gifs so it's WONDERFUL. (Especially since I do have to be on the internet for work-related things too.)

Isn't it awesome? I only learned about this recently myself and it has made life (and visiting tumblr) SO MUCH BETTER. I'm always immediately shutting off all the moving things on pages. I don't even feel guilty that I'm messing with people's gif art postings.

There is an extension for Chrome to stop the gigs. But as soon as you scroll the start animating until you stop scrolling. A bit disconcerting. But at least it works.
