Jonas
I'm in the process of writing a season 6 fic and suddenly this morning it hit me. Season 6 is almost over. I can't believe it. And so before I go for coffee, then start back on my fic (day off) and run around annoying people online, thought I would jot down a few thoughts. Since it contains season 7 spoilers, I hid it.
I am going to miss Jonas *so* much that I can hardly believe it. I know he's going to be in season 7, but from what I've read, he's not going to be on SG-1 anymore. So far I've enjoyed season 6's tone the best of all the seasons - and Jonas probably has something to do with that. Although, there were other things. Jack and Sam *finally* seemed relaxed around each other. Hell, even Teal'c was smiling. And SG-1 actually acted more like a military unit (an extremely cool, kick-ass military unit).
Now, I'm a newcomer to Stargate, having only started watching a little less than a year before season 6 began (have since seen all but a few season 4 and 5 episodes), and I'm even newer to the online scene. So, I was not around for any of the Daniel unpleasantness when Michael left. And I'm glad. I really like Daniel (although sometimes have rolled my eyes at the histrionics of the character). And I can't wait to see what the master storytellers do with him this next season.
It's sad that I feel I have to mention Daniel when talking about Jonas, but that's the way this thing is playing out. The one forever compared to the other in my mind. Hopefully when they are side-by-side in season 7, that will stop.
The writers and Corin took a grinning, naive character and turned him into a believably adept member of SG-1. Jonas, hon, your time is growing short. So walk down those SGC halls with pride and say to anyone who will listen:
"Yes, that's a '1' on my patch, and yes, I'm happy to see you!"

I can't believe it myself. When I was watching Memento last week, and the voice over at the end said 'catch the season finale next Wednesday' I almost went into shock.
It's too soon!

He had really helped Sam and Teal'c to grow as characters. Being the new guy meant they show a different side of themselves to him, because they've been doing it for years.
Sam is so not gonna act that way to Daniel when he comes back.
For the record: I like Daniel. A lot.
But I have had the displeasure of meeting MS. Thank God the character's so good!

Ooo. Sounds ominous. At least you can enjoy the character in spite of the actor.

{hands over ears}
La la la, la la la laaa!

I'll admit it's not easy sometimes, but I try my best :)

That's the spirit! :)
Did you happen to read Darren's pre-review of Full Circle over at GateWorld? Very disappointed about the Sam comment. And considering that they thought it might be the last episode ever - very disappointing.
But, moving on, there's a whole new year ahead. (Must keep the optimism.)

I did! Really looking forward to it, even despite the Sam thing.

But, now that there's a new season, there should be plenty of opportunities for closure on that. Optimism.

That's what annoys me. Jack and Teal'c got an episode with him; why not Sam? I don't care if it's ridiculous or not {stomps foot} {g}.

Am looking forward to Daniel coming back though too.
