GG news article

Somewhat interesting article on the Gilmore Girl's 6th season so far and a vague hint of what type of season finale it might be:

Am amused by the line "caused some sharp arguments among the show's rabid fans." I wonder what their definition of a "rabid fan" is? Because when I think of a rabid fan, I'm not thinking "sharp arguments," I'm thinking flames. :D

I agree with Lauren Graham - the whole Rory/Lorelai rift was pretty contrived. Actually, a lot of things are feeling pretty contrived these days. One thing I used to love about the show was its fairly honest portrayal of emotions/relationships. Now a lot seems there for the dwama.

I don't agree with the Palladinos with the statement, "But in this case, they said it was important to do something that shakes Rory to her foundation — a typical rite of passage for budding adults, who learn about themselves by how they respond." Okay, maybe *some* people have total personal/mental breakdowns when they become an adult, but I didn't. And I don't think any of my friends did. Yet somehow we're still adults. Not sure exactly how "typical" this is.

Ending it after S7 would be good. Rory will be graduating from Yale and it would be a natural ending. Yes, they could continue, but why? Seven seasons is a *great* run for a show.

I agree with this guy: Ted Cox of the Chicago Daily Herald said "it seemed suddenly as if the characters were being manipulated to create drama, rather than allowing the drama to flow naturally out of the characters."

This must be some sort of sxith season syndrome. (I felt the same way about season 6 of Buffy.) And the weird "All young adults go through some humiliating experience in their early twenties. That's how you become a real grown-up!" thing makes me wonder about the psychological health of showrunners in general.

The WB is canceling "7th Heaven"

FINALLY. Though the only reason I can imagine that it would be so expensive is that there are like three dozen people in the cast, and you'd think that would be easy to fix. But yes, please, make it go away.

I think you're right.

Heh heh. Very true.

Totally.

But yes, please, make it go away.

It was inane from the first episode. I'm honestly surprised it went for ten seasons.

Hmm. Alexis Bledel implied that it was over after this season. I know she said she was ready for it to be, and frankly, so am I. But you're right - one more would make it a natural ending.

Really? I hadn't heard about that. Of course, I hardly ever pay attention to actor/writer interviews. The only reason I saw this was because it was front and center on Yahoo's main page.

I only hope they decide on a season 7 before airing the cliffhanger. I will scream if they end the entire series without letting Luke and Lorelai get married.

That would be the *worst* if they did that. :(

It's a Kids in the Hall reference.

This wasn't an interview as such (I don't pay attention to those things, either) - it was actually a few comments she made when she spoke at my high school on career day a few weeks ago. "Now that the show's coming to an end ..." and stuff like that.

Oh neat! I bet that was fun to see her!
