You like being used and you know it.

So in the UK, what would be the equivalent of Animal Control? Or whatever organization would be involved in, say, a giant outbreak of snakes that covered a square mile?

ETA: Yes, I'm planning something...

Ah.

Hmm, I'd say the RSPCA as well, but they don't really have (as far as I know) great connections to law enforcement, who I would assume to be involved in that kind of outbreak...

Hmmm. Thanks!

DEFRA might also be involved. I think!

Another hmmmmm. Thanks!

To clear up a little confusication - rspca deal with things on a more domestic pet level, and defra would deal with the more agricultural or larger things - i.e. the foot and mouth disease.

Oh, and snakes in Britain are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making it illegal to injure or kill them.

Oops, that was me. LJ is being funny, I deleted the other one.

Hope that helps though.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup! thanks!

[identity profile] elaminen.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and they tend to encourage the whole snake thing in this country, rather than think of them as bad.. even the poisonous Adder is protected.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Wonder what they'd do if they found them on a plane...

[identity profile] elaminen.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol. Scream probably, we're a rather spineless country sometimes.

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Where is The Crocodile Hunter when you need him!

"Crikey mate! That's just a cobra. It's only the 8th deadliest snake in the world, way behind anything I play with daily back home. Let me get it for you."

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, they *totally* should have had him in that movie! Him and his upsetting shorts!

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You can almost picture it. All the passengers are screaming and trying to get to the back of the plane, when all of a sudden Steve Irwin jumps over a row of seats yelling "Crikey mate!"

[identity profile] elaminen.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
And just because I have the icon.. and I'm rather obviously bored right now :P

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
HEEEE!!

Hmm. I may be wanting DEFRA then.

Oh, and snakes in Britain are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making it illegal to injure or kill them.

How about releasing them from giant crates? ;)

[identity profile] empty-ambition.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
yup it probably be DEFRA you want. But I would be worried about the SNAKES ON THE PLANE! OMG THERE ARE SNAKES ON A PLANE! Lol. I gotta see that film.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure I won't be able to see that movie. Too freaky! :D
