(no subject)

Now why is it always so much fun to mock your friends? And they love to mock me. And this is a harmonious relationship.

Just got my final DW tie-in novel for Ten in the office today. (Well, mini-novel - it's that Dalek one.) I took *great* pleasure in giving [livejournal.com profile] elismor details of Doctor/Rose ship within the book, just to watch her flail.

me: oh wow. the doctor just [removed so as not to spoil]
elis: bad. wrong.

So. Amused.

ETA: Spoilers in comments.

Now I'm sure she'd want me to put in the caveat of the fact that she's not anti-ship per se, it's just not for her personally. Or maybe she is anti-ship. I forget.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] josephides? MAKE THE GODDAMN T-SHIRTS. OMG.

ETA: If you're on Jojo's flist, please take the poll to have her make t-shirts? Please? *bats eyes* (entry is flocked)

ALL MY ENTRIES ARE FLOCKED NOW. FLOCKY FLOCKY FLOCKY FLOCKY.

T-SHIRTS.

[identity profile] poohmusings.livejournal.com 2006-08-03 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
And you wonder why she flocks them all now ...

What's the name of the book, then? I'm keeping a list of these things to buy later when I have a tad bit more money (they're not cheap!).

So therefore, I want to be spoiled. What shippy thing did the Doctor just do? :-)

Oh, don't think I didn't see what you voted. YOU'RE ON MY LIST.

I am a Dalek.

I basically skimmed - it's a *really* short paperback.

There were goofy grins, hand holding and even face stroking. heh heh.

There were goofy grins, hand holding and even face stroking.

Oh, geez. They really are just too darn cute together.

I know!! *PETS*

Although the face stroking thing was a sad sort of thing - the Dalek figured out the Rose situation and long story short, the Doctor ends up making a deal with the Dalek to save Earth and her. Heavy emphasis on her.

Rose is like, "come on! you've got a plan, right?" And he's like "no." *sniff*

Aw, poor Doctor. (I almost used that E WORD again! Ack!)

I was just leery of the killing spree. No, really.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-08-03 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
And yet people would rather have Jojo kill than to make me t-shirts. *sniff*

Well, to be fair, I think they're probably not so much anti-T-shirt as pro-killing-spree...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-08-03 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's hope...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-08-03 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh wait. Actually re-read the section and...poodles. He pretty much gives the Dalek a way to hop around the universe just so Rose won't lose her family. Of course Rose is like, dude, wtf?? And that's when he paws her. Okay, yeah, the Doctor had no way of killing it but not sure I could buy the handing over the ticket to the universe thing. :-\ Rose was a bit weirded out herself.

That part was odd.

[identity profile] beck-liz.livejournal.com 2006-08-04 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Okaaaaay... that's no good. Doctor, what art thou thinking? Or not thinking, as the case may be? Much weirdness there.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-08-04 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I think the implication was that he didn't want Rose to live through the same trauma he had.

He gazed over her shoulder, looking into the past. "We go back a long, long time. The Dalek knows me. It knows I can't stand back and watch it destroy your home."

BUT STILL. Rose trauma vs. universe wipe-out?
