Have we introduced you to the concept of the Writing Pool?

The one where the horsechicks take uncooperative characters to persuade them to cooperate? Either by coercion (e.g. ducking them in the pool repeatedly) or bribery (e.g. sitting them in deck chairs and serving them lots of yummy umbrella drinks). Or sometimes we just send them there to relax after something particularly harrowing.

It's not always effective in the sense of actually getting the razzmfrazzm PeopleInOurHeads to spill already, but keeping betareaders updated on the progress of, say, plying Martouf with strawberry daiquiris does come with its own intrinsic entertainment value.
