Studio 60 and The Cold Open

Still just really, really loving this show. So nice when characters have actual good dialog.

I did have a "Gilbert and Sullivan? Really? That's your brilliant open?" moment. Maybe because I'm not really a Gilbert and Sullivan fan. But whatever. It seemed to turn out okay. So I guess that means that "Crazy Christians" got cut? Or maybe they did it after the main titles. Although I could see them cutting it after Matt's lines about things not being funny a second time. So true. If the sketch was leaked and out there already, there was really no point of doing it.

*Loved* the lines about "17 is funnier than 15?" Not that I am in ANY way on par with any comedy writers, but I have totally had moments in writing humor fic where I change one word because I think its funnier. Heh heh.

Made a simple clock icon that anyone's welcome to snag. (Got the cap from [livejournal.com profile] hooloovoo_42.) Actually, any icons I have that don't have a "made by" line on them are mine, and anyone's welcome to them. :)

I guess we all have to pick and choose what to watch so we don't overload. Didn't see Studio 60 cause there just didn't seem to be room on the watching schedule for it. If it turns out to be a hit I'll just pick it up on NetFlix when the DVDs come out.

Here's, on the other hand, I will sit down to watch.

Studio 60 will probably be a good one to NetFlix next summer. I could totally marathon this show.

I caught the end of Heroes when I was tuning into Studio 60. Hadn't even heard of the show. But it's about superheroes or something?

Heroes

They like to say, "People with special abilities". Yeah, superheroes or something. There's a repeat tonight at 8:00 if you'd like to catch it.

It has potential (if they stay away from the campiness) and seems to be heading toward a season long story arc. The first episodes will be slow as everyone has to be introduced and fleshed out. It's not just a Wham Bam, knock out the supervillian show. Looks like they want to delve into the "inner most psyche" when something strange happens to you and how they deal with it.

My favorite it Hiro, the Japanese office worker. He's the only one who whole-hearted embraces the idea of being a "superhero".

Hmm. Sounds interesting. Or at least different. May check it out, if I remember. Although it's hard getting back into TV-watching mode after summer again. Most nights I don't even have it turned on and am instead playing on the computer.

I have to say that this is my geekiness. I'm a tv junkie. I'll watch it no matter what's on. I think it comes from the slight autism. You know, the moving lights and sound. Can't keep my eyes off it. So I just dwell into it and soak it all in.

That's pitiful, isn't it?

Nah. I can in no way call someone a geek because of the whole pot and kettle thing. :D

I thought the opening was amusing, but maybe I've been skewed by Marcus on Babylon 5's version of that ditty. ;)

Oh, did you notice that they used the same font for the ep title as they used for WW? Yes, I am dorky enough to notice that. ;)

Oh yeah, blonding out, but where are you hiding all your Studio 60 icons, I need me one. Are they all in your personal icons?

Heh heh. Good, I take it?

Didn't notice. :D

Haven't made any Studio 60 icons, other than this clock one. You're welcome to it if you want. Only have one other icon that I got off the Studio 60 icon community.

Yes, I am dorky enough to notice that. ;)

Not only am I dorky enough to notice, it's kinda freaking me out. Especially since they also use it to establish time-and-place at the beginning of some acts the way WW did. O_o

LOL

Nuh-uh. They kept the Crazy Christians. It was on the little pin-board schedule at the end of the first half hour.

Wow, you have GOOD eyes.
