Sorry for the spamming today. Have had too much coffee and am really twitchy. Really, really twitchy.
Ships in 1 - 2 months?? WTF?
ETA: Due to the coffee buzz, go ahead and give me one of those "Five Things" prompts and I'll try and write it. Yeah, I did one earlier for
bella_blu, but that was because she cornered me in her journal. Um, you can hit me for SG-1, Arrested Development, BSG, DW, Gilmore Girls and...Lost?
Also,
elismor has been helpful again, suggesting "Tempus Pingul Nihil Est" for fic title which apparently means "time means nothing to a penguin." It would violate my "time" word rule, but it's in latin, so...
ETA2: A bageldog sounds good in theory, but... Bleh.

(And I really need a penguin icon. Heh. Flashbacks to sitting in a theater in Cambridge and a row of flailing during sad penguin scenes.)

- 5 times the Doctor got lost in the TARDIS?
- The five things Rose found in the TARDIS that made no sense until after she'd met Sarah Jane? (thinking things related to former companions that obviously weren't the Doctor's)
- The five planets the Doctor tried to show Rose a "north" of?
I'm sure there are more humerous ones, but those are the only ones I can think of right now.
As for the fic title, it sounds great. Only, how is there a Latin word for Penguin? Penguins are native to the southern hemisphere only. They live in Antarctica, parts of Southern Australia and South America, and a few islands inbetween. So, given that they didn't go anywhere near those places, how did they come up with a word for them?
*is confused*

Interesting!

Heh heh heh.

But haven't all animals been given latin scientific type names now? And plants too? Probably was something that came later, I guess.

D'oh! Obviously. Just 'cause the Romans weren't making up the words, doesn't mean that there weren't a bunch of scientists doing so. Makes perfect sense.
So to finish, a Latin quote of my own. :)
Quantus et canis in fenestra

You're putting a hole in a dog?
(Also, wish I knew more old Who for that first prompt, but am gonna have to stick with Nine and Ten.)

She actually spelled it wrong. It's pinguis, not pingul.
It's not a taxonomical distinction, though. Pinguis actually means "fat" in latin; it' considered to be one of the possible roots of the word "penguin". The title I offered her is really nonsense in that regard, but pinguis sounds enough like penguin that the average fanfic reader would probably get the joke.
Taxonomically speaking, penguins are:
Chordata, Aves, Sphenisciformes, Spheniscidae [any number of genera]
