That was... It's all now one big psychological game, isn't it? I'm really wondering if they're going to try and assimilate Jack, Kate and Sawyer by using a bit of good-old-fashioned programing...thingies (what do you call it?) - breaking them down and then incorporating them very cult-like. Pretty much the three hardest people to try and do that to, though. Although if it works, the rest of the crew will totally follow.

The mini town really wasn't that surprising to me considering all the not-so-vague hints of the Others pretending to be wild, etc. Hmm. Wonder if that Stephen King book was supposed to be a clue. Which book was it? I think Juliette's arm was over the title.

But yeah. Cult. At least this is what I'm thinking now.

Sawyer in the cage was amusing though. Heh heh. "Aww! You got yourself a fish biscuit!" HA! Hmmm. This "cult" is probably built on the discoveries/knowledge gained in the animal behavioral experiments of the past. And, well, the human behavioral experiments too. Like I said, psychological game.

Not that I ever cared who Kate would end up with, but I think I'd totally pick Sawyer's con-man ways over last night's reveal of Jack's obsessive side. That was SCARY obsessive. Really, really scary. Run, Kate! Run!

Oh please. "Let's move on because it's getting too uncomfortable"? What did they think would happen when they brought back Keith? And everyone knew this before, but Vincent really is NUTS.

For some weird reason, I don't really hate Jeffrey anymore. WEIRD. Especially since he gave more of the context of the words that got aired when he was talking to Angela's mom. Oh, he was still rude, but I'm seeing where Angela gets her drama queen-ness from.

Really glad this show doesn't normally deal with soap-opera-y stuff. Yeah, they have a bit of "drama" every now and then, but I'd much rather watch them make clothes and have Tim walk around with a concerned look on his face rather than getting into the dwama.

Gonna have to look later - can't watch at work unfortunately.

I have to say, generally speaking I'm into asshole characters and the weird ones, but Jack Sheppard totally lost me last night. It's one thing to want to know who the guy your wife is cheating on you with (after you've been wholly emotionally, and physically, absent from her life since you got married), it's quite another thing to obsessively get her phone records and call every phone number until you find that guy...and then accuse your own dad (and really, your wife) of sleeping with your wife.

Freaky. And the rage he was experiencing...ahhhh. Make him go away!

And I was always on Jeffrey's side in the Angela's Mom v. Jeffrey debate. It was ONE CHALLENGE. She had to wear the dress ONE TIME. Gut up and take it. It's not like he's making your wedding dress and you hate it. It's a one time deal, just shut UP already. And crying because someone spoke harshly to her when they were under INCREDIBLE amounts of stress? How did this woman exist in the real world for 50+ years?

But then, I couldn't believe someone made such a big deal about wearing a dress that they only had to wear for a few hours one time.

YES. That was in. sane. I mean, Jack always had that intense vibe to him, but didn't know it was scary intense. Yikes.

Wonder if that will be a theme for this season - we'll start seeing the character's darker sides.

Right. It was like "Yeesh, woman. You have to spend a few hours with this person and that's it. Just blow it off."

But then, I couldn't believe someone made such a big deal about wearing a dress that they only had to wear for a few hours one time.

Yeah. Heh.

YES. It is all one big psych game, and that's totally sucking me back into this show. The thing with the lever and the shocks? They've done that with rats. I remember that from intro psych.

They're very very cult-like. They're definitely trying to break them, each in different ways. Good luck on that. Of the three of them, I think Jack is the most likely to break. He's already taken that first step, and as we've seen, he's pretty unstable, emotionally.

What got me off of this show last season was that even the good guys (like Jack) were turning out to be bad people, as shown through flashbacks and their current actions. So seeing him get all obsessive about his ex? Not surprising to me. Not pretty, though. At least Sawyer is honest about being an ass, for the most part.

Yup! Should be an interesting season.

Very true. He's got this super-tight grip on his realities, and that will probably be the easiest to destroy.

It did surprise me. I mean, I knew he was intense, but I had no idea he was *that* bad. Yikes, man!

And you're right - at least Sawyer is more honest about it all which is sooooo ironic for being a con man. :D

The interaction with Juliette and Jack did seem like brainwashing tactics, but less so with Kate and Sawyer (isolation and some level of sensory deprivation is more typical, because when people are alone then it's easier to encourage dependency on the cult group/leader).

I really loved Sawyer's Skinner box, though. Best part of the Dharma Initiative ever.

Hmm. Wonder what they've got in store for Kate and Sawyer then. Doesn't bode well with what's-his-name saying it would be a hellish couple of weeks for her.

It was just so funny that it was Sawyer, too. :D

(Oh, is that what that's called? Sounds vaguely familiar from college days.)
