Bye bye, TV!

poohmusings did it, so why not? There are quite a few decent shows out there this season, and so you can actually pick and choose for once.

On the chopping block:

• Studio 60. I just sort of fell out of interest with it. It started out strong but then kept hitting the same note over and over. After I came back from vacation, I realized I didn't really have a strong desire to catch up.
  
  
• Torchwood. I had my doubts about it on seeing the promo trailer before it aired, but watched anyway. But after seeing it, it's just not my thing. Too dark, and I'm not really talking about the graphic nature of it. (It takes a *whole* lot more than what they aired for me to be offended.) It was more of a "God, this is depressing" thing. And not a good BSG depressing. Not even my Jack love will get me there. But I'll still probably try and ferret out DW-related happenings in Torchwood by reading spoilers. And may even watch if something DW-critical happens. Heh.

On the fence:

• Gilmore Girls. Why am I still watching this show? Why? I CAN'T STOP.
  
  
• Veronica Mars. I seriously do not know how much more of this plotline I can take. nandamai finally hit the nail on the head with my problem with it.

Not gonna even start, so you can tell me how awesome it is and I still won't watch:

Heroes, The Nine, Prison Break, Supernatural, Friday Night Lights.

• Quit watching the Gilmore Girls around season three. Just lost inerest


• Yeah, the current plot line just isn't going well. Hope that the second plot line it more in tune with the shows' themes

This is not the Captain Jack I remember from DW...

I kinda wish they had started out with *Jack* being the Torchwood newbie. There's definitely a lot more cynicism to him now and we're missing a big chunk of backstory that I'm sure goes with it.

I think RTD will get into that, but not give it to us all at once. Or maybe he's finally remembered those two years that got wiped from his memory that he mentioned to Rose and Nine.

I'm still giving Studio 60 and Torchwood a chance, although my interest in Studio 60 is waning somewhat. I like the oddness of Torchwood. <g> GG is so long gone though. I'm pondering giving my sister my seasons 1-5 DVDs.

Normally I totally groove on "odd." Something that's slightly (or a lot) off from the norm rocks my socks. But for some reason, Torchwood and I just didn't click.

You know how I feel about Torchwood, so we won't go there. :-) Studio 60 - I really, really wanted to like it, but not having it on tonight is something of a relief, really. I'm more than ready to stop watching.

I've never been a Gilmore Girls fan, so there's that. Veronica Mars - I still love Veronica and Keith and some of the other characters, so I'm sticking it out even though it's not really clicking with me at the moment.

I love Heroes and Supernatural, and like The Nine. I tried to watch an episode of Friday Night Lights over the weekend, and I just couldn't work up any interest, so I stopped trying. I'm watching too much TV as it is. If it's really all that, I'll catch it from Netflix eventually. Prison Break I gave up on ages ago; I just didn't like it, no matter how pretty Wentworth Miller is.

Yes! This is the first time in awhile, other than Project Runway, that I've gotten involved with a show that's on at 10 pm ON A WEEKDAY. A Monday, to boot. And PR is fluffy enough I feel like I can watch it half asleep. But S60 you kind of have to pay attention or you're miss Sorkin's snappy dialogue and have no clue what's going on. It's not that I'm not still up until past 11, it's just that my eyes have usually glazed over by then. :-)

That's funny - I love Torchwood and don't see it as being depressingly sad.

BSG however I really really don't like because I can see no happy ending for it and that show depresses the hell out of me.
