Down the rabbit hole...

I said I wasn't going to play TPTB's game. I believe even the phrase "kiss my ass" was involved. But here I am. *sigh* I'm *sure* this has been discussed elsewhere, but I'm still living in my own little world.

Somehow I totally spaced on the fact that the end of Torchwood *wasn't* the first time that "Bad Wolf" and Torchwood had met. Which was a "duh" moment for me since I'd been cackling at the [livejournal.com profile] elismor DT letter at the time, which was *because* Bad Wolf had popped up before.

"Now when it comes to the Doctor's companion, the Torchwood files are strangely lacking. It seems the evidence has been corrupted, something called 'Bad Wolf' virus. At least we've got these photographs." ~ Love & Monsters

That's always bugged the crap out of me. A theory was floated that maybe it actually had been the Doctor who corrupted the files, and simply used "Bad Wolf" as a name for the hell of it. If this virus was done by him prior to Army of Ghosts/Doomsday, why only destroy info about Rose? Why not also about himself? I'm thinking he wouldn't exactly be pleased about someone collecting info on him. And after Army of Ghosts/Doomsday, why destroy info about Rose at all? What would be his motivation? If Torchwood *was* writing his supposed "complete history*," wouldn't he want Rose to have a mention? All kidding aside, he'd probably even want Jackie to have a mention.

Hmm. Was this virus ever mentioned in the Torchwood series?

But combine this with the Bad Wolf graffiti behind Jack, and it's looking more and more like BadWolf!Rose got up to something - something beyond what happened on the game station in The Parting of the Ways, and it involves Jack. What exactly this something is, remains to be seen. And why exactly BadWolf!Rose felt the need to erase Rose's information...I'm at a loss at the moment.

[insert standard plea for no BP guest spots - permanent return or nothing]

* Yeah, I know. The writing a complete history thing was pretty much a joke. But it was obvious that Torchwood knew about the Doctor and the Doctor didn't seem all that irked at that point.

Hold me, Old Who. You who felt no need to plant clues for 3 series, leading up to the fact that the Brigadier was a giant hamster.

I always figured that the virus that Mickey was given by Nine to erase all of the traces of him at the end of Aliens of London was the Torchwood/BadWolf virus that the Love in Monsters episode brought up. I don't think that Ten would want to erase Rose, but Nine wanted to protect Rose from other internet scavengers.

I remember someone bringing that up before. But the only problem is, that in Love & Monsters, they seemed to have really no problem getting info about the Doctor from Torchwood. It was only Rose that had been affected. So, I'm thinking that either the virus given to Mickey went *completely* sideways, or this Bad Wolf Virus and what Mickey got were two separate things.

Okay, had to double-check just to make sure I wasn't going mad. But yeah, Rose was the only one affected.
