DW: The Invisible Enemy (Four, Leela, K-9)

  • The Doctor got mpreged! No one will talk me out of this, either! He became the host for the "breeding nucleus" and that's mpreged enough for me! :D And then the Doctor gives birth to a giant shrimp. Through his tear duct. Ouch. (Well, at least it wasn't...other places.) However, this is not a happy, bonding moment as the giant shrimp is an already-pregnant megalomaniac. At this point the Doctor was probably wondering why he didn't become a Time Lord tax accountant like his brother.

  • K-9's first episode! I'm kind of thinking I'm not allowed to quibble over the tacked-on nature of a tin dog joining the TARDIS crew, since, you know, it's a tin dog joining the TARDIS crew. But awww. Even before K-9 joined them, the Doctor was patting him, making clucking noises at him and "good dog"-ing him. Even ends up pulling him on a leash. :D He so wanted a dog! He just didn't know it!

  • The Doctor blows up a moon base. He just *really* loves 'sploding things, doesn't he? :D *snickers at Nine running around with a bomb in "Rose"* Oh, he doesn't do guns, but giant flaming fireballs of fire? Hell yeah.

  • Wasn't overly wild about the plot. Not my favorite. A lot of it was "Fantastic Voyage" and...meh.

  • "What do we do now?" "How about using our intelligence?" "If you think that's wise." HA!

Almost as much as the Brigadier does! ;-)

It is SO MUCH FUN watching you discover all of these. And it makes me want to rewatch them all (not having done so, with most of them, for easily a decade). Even Especially the bits that draw the most creative and well-deserved snark...

*snickers* Nothing like "OMG, the Doctor takes naps!!" posts 40 years after the episode has aired...

Oh yeah. You totally should! Bubble wrap and giant foam clams are pure glee!! :D

*giggle* I actually did rewatch the Key to Time series while working on the clockdroid costume. Which of course means I 95% listened and about 50% watched, but these days that's pretty much how it works.

I'm actually kinda torn between watching the stuff I remember pretty well, and discovering stuff I either haven't seen or may have seen once 15 years ago (i.e. pretty much all of One through Three). Hubby got "The Claws of Axos" (Three, Jo, Brig; Master 1) for Christmas, and we put that on last night. Unfortunately, despite having been in the room for almost two episodes, I have very little idea what was going on, as most of my attention was on affixing bling to geisha wigs... %-}

My dl of "Snakedance" did finally finish last weekend, but (a) this week is Just Too Crazed, and (b) I'm waiting for the AV cable I ordered for my Zen to arrive, so I can play stuff straight from it to the TV instead of waiting for DVD conversion and burning.

I really do think I need to dig this one out, tho. The Fuzz of Possession! (And you're right. TOTAL mpreg, dammit!)

Well, geisha wigs would tend to take away one's attention. :D It's funny - with some of the episodes you can totally listen and do other things, but other episodes you really need to pay attention to follow what's going on.

Nice. Someday I'll get a laptop. Maybe. Although I'm getting most of it from Netflix now, but getting the reconstructions and stuff that's not been released on DVD from elsewhere.

And you're right. TOTAL mpreg, dammit!

Uh huh! And I wasn't snickering at the Doctor. Nope. Not sure why, but I seem to get a kick out of his "oh, son of a BITCH" moments. :D Probably why I was always so amused at his relationship with Jackie in the new series.

BTW, I should really note that the fact that I have a life in which the affixing of bling to geisha wigs is a necessary task is a source of glee in and of itself, regardless of its effect on my ability to pay attention to Who. ;-D

Well, I figured. :D

Yeah, I have laptop dreams too. Which of course just keep getting further away as I buy things like a 30GB mp3/video player. But it was on Heap Big Sale! And I couldn't hear my $20-from-the-clearance-shelf one on trains or planes, which is where I wanted to use it!

Yeah, the rip-off of Fantastic Voyage was a bit much! And no Rachel Welch to help. :)

I'm trying to ignore the mpreg idea, but I am afraid that you are correctomundo. Alas.

If the Doctor played D&D, he would certainly play a magic-user/wizard, and his fave spells would be all the fire spells, esp. the third level spell, Fireball, and the higher level spell, Delayed Blast Fireball. *beams*

So about these animals.

Four likes dogs. Nine and Six like cats. Ten doesn't like cats, but can ride a horse. So what animals, if any, do the other Doctors like?

I was amused. :D I'm not sure why I generally have a love for whenever the Doctor has a head-banging moment...

*snorts* Totally!

Didn't Four hop on a horse at one point? I wanna say that one of the Doctors (aside from Ten) was on a horse. Maybe I'm thinking of Romana. Other animals? Hmmm.
