"It's funny. You live in the universe but you never do these things till someone comes to visit."
Went to the Griffith Observatory yesterday. Hadn't realized that it had just reopened after being closed for 4 years. I used to go up there with friends when I lived in Burbank because it was FREE. It's not free now, but not expensive. But anyway, the 1930s building is still there - they actually lifted the whole thing up and built a huge underground complex. O_O
They now have the "Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater." Awesome. :D And their cafe is called "The Cafe at the End of the Universe." HEE! And this...

Here is some random dude walking into the Wormhole Stairway.

THEY'RE GONE! OMGWTFWORMHOLE!
(Heh. I really am that dorky. Ask the people I've ever gone to Disneyland with.)

Shot of the art deco-ness above the main doorway.
I probably would have taken more pictures if I had my remembered my own camera. Stupid me.
Ended up seeing the planetarium show, which was I guess really, really good if you're into planetarium shows. I'd never actually seen one before. But the main thing I was impressed with is how *immense* the universe is. I mean, I knew it was big, but it's often hard to think about stuff like that since it seems abstract. Light from the other end of the universe would take a billion years to get here. And we live in the boondocks of a backwater galaxy. Heh heh.
