Don't think I'm getting my memos.

My flist is irking me. Yes, this means you.

Heh.

Actually, for some reason my flist doesn't seem to be updating correctly or something. I'll run across posts that I *know* weren't there before. And so if a post doesn't show up the first time I run through it, I don't see it since I have a mental "I've read up to this point" line in my mind. BAH.

Also, I'm tired today. And sorta cranky due to the tired. I *should* find something to rage about in this state. Hmmm.

OH. One female smurf for five hundred male smurfs? What the hell was that about? I'm also still a bit unclear at how the stork worked into the reproduction process of the smurf. Did the smurfs have sex with the storks?

I never get the little messages in my message center.

I do get those, but I only really have friending and community applications turned on. At least, I *think* I'm getting those.

This happens to me a lot. I'll go to someone's main journal and find entries I certainly did not see on my flist.

I'm having the same flist weirdnesses. I have decided that people are not seeing my Blood Ties posts because they are too, and this is the reason there is no discussion happening on them. And that it is in no way because they are lame posts on which nobody wants to comment. (I would just assume nobody on my flist was watching the show, except for the part where I know several specific people are. Most of whom, unsurprisingly, I originally met in Forever Knight fandom.)

YES! (And I probably shouldn't mention I've never even heard of Blood Ties.)

Exactly. How can we possibly be expected to have a healthy LJ life this way?

Oh, sure. You're just trying to avoid the question of Baby Smurf. Dammit, that genetic material came from somewhere.

(And I probably shouldn't mention I've never even heard of Blood Ties.)

Since it (a) just premiered a week and a half ago, and (b) is on Lifetime, of all places, this is not a big deal.

However, it has a (passably lickable) vampire in the regular cast, and is set in Toronto. Hence the number of buds from FK fandom checking it out.

Two words.

Smurf. MPreg.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-03-20 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
They've got a vampire show on Lifetime? Wow. Things must have changed from their past rape-movie-of-the-week format!

No changes overall that I can see -- this is definitely quite a departure for them. Although the promos are still playing up the romantic triangle to a degree that's rather laughable.

Mind you, if they had the brains God gave a potato bug, they wouldn't have scheduled it opposite BSG...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-03-20 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Undoubtedly. Smurf assbabies.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-03-20 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's pretty dumb. There goes their audience.

[identity profile] poohmusings.livejournal.com 2007-03-20 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Your flist is updating just fine. Your flist is simply talking about you behind your back.

*smooch*

Well, *that* doesn't surprise me.

That's gotta smurf.

Is this the part where I get all paranoiod that I've missed posts and start compusively reading all the individual journals on my flist.

or did I miss the boat for that one?

As for the smurf question - lady smurf is very, very sore *wink*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, now I'm looking at your journal to see if I've missed anything. Heh.

And I'm thinking the girl smurf would quickly discover the "headache."

You know, I just read a book entitled Blood Ties Book 1: The Turning. I wonder if it's related to the series at all?

Hmmm...I should check Lifetime out and see what I can find out. The book was good. Enough so that I'm planning on getting the second one which is out.

[identity profile] diavestra.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I remember reading about a lawsuit where a couple sued the hospital because the doctor and/or nurses referred to their newborn baby as a Smurf because it was blue when it was born...

There you go. I mentioned "baby" and "Smurf" all in the same sentence.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
I just really have no response for that...

Based on a different book series, actually. Tanya Huff's Blood Price (of which the two-hour pilot is a straight adaptation -- and update, since they were written in the late 80s/early 90s) and ensuing series. (She said something on her blog about wishing now that she'd given the series a name.)

I read the first three back around when they came out and really enjoyed them, but haven't gotten around to the other two. Apparently she also spun off another book series after the events with the one main character ran their course. (I do actually know what that means specifically, but don't want to spoil it in case you decide to read them. Which I recommend. I'm trying to decide whether the advent of the TV series makes it a good or bad idea to reread the first three and finally get around to the rest.)

I checked, and I was wrong -- it's in the hour before. (I was fuzzy on the actual time, as [livejournal.com profile] brainiacfive has been recording for me while I was at rehearsal.)

Jake 2.0 reruns on their own are considerably less of an obstacle to bringing the geek girls to the yard. However, they seem to need to get the word out better if they want more of us to change the channel to sandwich it between The Dresden Files and BSG...
