Here come the drums...

  • Doctor: The Master and WIFE?? O_O (Bwahahahahaha! But who's Lucy? She looks familiar.)

  • Martha: Thought you and the Master might have been secret brothers or something. Doctor: You've been watching too much TV. *LOVES*

  • Holy buckets of backstory, Batman!!! Academy at 8! Initiation with the Vortex! Time Lord robes! (bwahahahahaha!) Okay, but the Master went mad and the Doctor ran away. Interesting. People will meta on that point alone for YEARS. But that *totally* fits the Doctor getting hives just being near Gallifrey. Well, that and the fact that Time Lords are dicks.

  • Jack finally admits he works for Torchwood. The Doctor's pissed, but it quickly passes.

  • Doctor: It's like when you fancy someone and they don't know you exist. *runs off* Jack to Martha: You too, huh?

Awww. I keep kinda wondering if Martha's gonna jump ship in the finale. Her family is *messed up* because of traveling with the Doctor. And then she meets Jack who she finds out the Doctor just ditched and never looked back - a person who had that same love for the Doctor. Yeah, either jump ship at the end, or come to this epiphany of knowing all this – that she could get ditched, that her family could be compromised, the world could burn, and she'll still travel with the Doctor. She's just *really* gonna need to get to that place of being okay with the Doctor not being in love with her.

  • Ohhhhhhhhhhh. So Saxon's been around since the time of Rose, right? Remember how in Love & Monsters they had files on the Doctor, but for some reason the files on his companion were wiped out by the Bad Wolf Virus? Me thinks Vortex!Rose was trying to protect her family.

  • Heh. UNIT.

  • Oh, the Doctor wants to save the Master. Why do I think that this is just NOT going to end well?

  • Oh *SOB* The cloister bell on the TARDIS is ringing and ringing! Okay, seriously. I was sniffling. The TARDIS is in pain!

  • The Master with jelly babies. Heh.

  • Ball things: Is the machine singing? (WHY does this sound familiar? Something singing? OH! Huh. I think I'm thinking of the Gelth. They sang to Gwen.)

  • Ha! The music! *boogies* Night-club TARDIS! AWESOME. Yes, and now I must have this song. :D

  • Why exactly did Martha hop to the planet? (Oh God. I'm not allowed to make a "to update her myspace" joke am I? :-x)

  • Preview: Commando!Martha! See, *this* is the Martha I wanted for this whole series. Bring on commando!Martha!! Bring on the finale!

Ha! The music! *boogies* Night-club TARDIS! AWESOME. Yes, and now I must have this song. :D

Ever since I found out what this episode was called, I've had that song in my head. I swear to God, when they started playing it I gave a little yelp of joy.

And then giggled for an age over the unintentional link it made to another fandom.

(Basically, the lead singer is also an actress, and the character she played really screwed with the marriage of a much loved couple in just about every way imaginable. So my reaction to her being involved in 'end of the world stuff'? "Yeah, that'd be about right...")

Why exactly did Martha hop to the planet? (Oh God. I'm not allowed to make a "to update her myspace" joke am I? :-x)

*raises hand*

Okay, I did. I'm only a little bit ashamed.

But. Yeah. Um. Yeah. (This is how coherent I am five minutes after watching. Impressive, isn't it?)

I actually really, really felt for Martha in this episode. Like - big time recoiling at the idea of Saxon and friends going after her family. I mean, poor Martha. There she is, having the time of her life, falling in love with someone who could be dangerous to her, and they go after her family. Sort of puts the unrequited thing into new light, doesn't it?

Okay, but the Master went mad and the Doctor ran away. Interesting. People will meta on that point alone for YEARS.

Haha. Best bit of the episode. And... Gallifrey backstory! *squee*

Okay, seriously. I was sniffling. The TARDIS is in pain!

Me, too. I can handle everything else that happened, BUT LEAVE THE TARDIS ALONE, DAMNIT. *sniffs*

Ohhhhhhhhhhh. So Saxon's been around since the time of Rose, right? Remember how in Love & Monsters they had files on the Doctor, but for some reason the files on his companion were wiped out by the Bad Wolf Virus? Me thinks Vortex!Rose was trying to protect her family.

Actually, my theory on that (since it first aired actually) was Jack did that. We know for sure now that he "took care of" Rose. And it's a subtle way to get the Doctor's attention.

Ha! The music! *boogies* Night-club TARDIS! AWESOME. Yes, and now I must have this song. :D

Me too! And honestly, who doesn't want to go the Master's Dance Party? On a shallow note, loved Lucy getting down and even more important, LOVED Lucy's shoes.

Why exactly did Martha hop to the planet? (Oh God. I'm not allowed to make a "to update her myspace" joke am I? :-x)

YES, YES YOU ARE!!! Because that's so why she did it.

Ha! The music! *boogies* Night-club TARDIS! AWESOME. Yes, and now I must have this song. :D

Am still gobsmacked they used the Rogue Traders music in DOCTOR WHO. I mean... not something I would have seen coming! LOL

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm still bopping over it! :D I've watched that scene like 3 times now - I'm seriously wanting to put it in my favorite moments of Who!

Yes, yes, the Doctor's all old, but DanceParty!TARDIS!!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I did. I'm only a little bit ashamed.

I was like, "Okay, why isn't Jack going down there? He's got a better shot of organizing and doing something." And then myspace popped into my head. :D Poor Martha and that damn myspace blog.

Sort of puts the unrequited thing into new light, doesn't it?

It totally does. And in this and the last episode, she finds out there are usually consequences for traveling with the Doctor. Like - a hole in the head, or stuck in a parallel world, or immortally alone, or family held captive. Guess she'll need to decide if her love for him that isn't returned is worth it.

Haha. Best bit of the episode. And... Gallifrey backstory! *squee*

My mouth was hanging open! Seriously! It's like...more information than they've given us in the past 40 years or something.

Me, too. I can handle everything else that happened, BUT LEAVE THE TARDIS ALONE, DAMNIT. *sniffs*

It was the cloister bell ringing that did it for me. Only the 4th time or so it's been sounded I think? 2nd time in New Who.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, my theory on that (since it first aired actually) was Jack did that. We know for sure now that he "took care of" Rose. And it's a subtle way to get the Doctor's attention.

Ooooooh! Although...did he know about the "Bad Wolf" thing?

Me too! And honestly, who doesn't want to go the Master's Dance Party?

I know! The TARDIS all red...

On a shallow note, loved Lucy getting down and even more important, LOVED Lucy's shoes.

I know! She was doing that little dance in her pumps - I think I'm a wee bit fascinated with Lucy.

YES, YES YOU ARE!!! Because that's so why she did it.

They're gonna do it, aren't they. They're gonna update her blog while killbots roam the planet. *headdesk*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I'd never heard that song before, but it was so COOL how it was placed! *LOVES*

[identity profile] sg1padawan.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
It's the Rogue Traders - "Voodoo Child". They're an Aussie band - the lead singer is off an Australian soapie so they were HUGE when they first released this. :)

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooooh! Although...did he know about the "Bad Wolf" thing?

He may not have known what it meant, but he knew the words. Remember? Boomtown?

I think I'm a wee bit fascinated with Lucy.

Yeah, I'm gonna say it. I love Lucy. For she is evilRose.

They're gonna do it, aren't they. They're gonna update her blog while killbots roam the planet. *headdesk*

And you will mock it yes?

I thought of you at that moment, too, and pretty much jokingly thought of her updating her Myspace. XD *Laughs* Yer a bad influence, Michelle! =P

Mwahahahahaha!

He may not have known what it meant, but he knew the words. Remember? Boomtown?

Ah, good point.

Yeah, I'm gonna say it. I love Lucy. For she is evilRose.

She IS, isn't she?? :D OMG. The freaky-hell dinner party that would be - the Master, Lucy, the Doctor and Rose. :D

And you will mock it yes?

I may have no choice.

That's so cool!

I loved the wife so much. She was in on it the whole time and not a dupe at all. It was awesome. And the Master seemed rather affectionately fond of her, too. Interesting, no?

Okay, but the Master went mad and the Doctor ran away. Interesting. People will meta on that point alone for YEARS. But that *totally* fits the Doctor getting hives just being near Gallifrey. Well, that and the fact that Time Lords are dicks.

I always pretty much thought this was the case. I mean, the Doctor is clearly the black sheep of the family - or at least the gray sheep, with the Master being the black one. Or something. Two rogue elements in the stuffy Time Lord society, of course they'd rebel. And I could swear, although this is strictly hearsay and I can't tell you where it was stated canonically, that the Doctor stole his TARDIS.

Doctor: It's like when you fancy someone and they don't know you exist. *runs off* Jack to Martha: You too, huh?

The Doctor's just completely, utterly oblivious sometimes, isn't he? I mean, I just winced for her, and well. You know.

I keep kinda wondering if Martha's gonna jump ship in the finale.

Yeah, kind of, "I'll save your ass and then that's IT." She's been through so much and when she found out her family was in danger she was kind of losing it.

Oh, the Doctor wants to save the Master. Why do I think that this is just NOT going to end well?

Tell me about it. He'll probably end up just pissing the Master off and making things 100x worse.

Ha! The music! *boogies* Night-club TARDIS! AWESOME. Yes, and now I must have this song. :D

Yes, awesome! But what IS it? I want it, too.

Why exactly did Martha hop to the planet?

Yeah, and why not Jack? The only thing I can explain it away with is Jack wanting to stay near the Doctor to try to protect him, but still. Jack's the one with the connections and such, even if most of them are in the Himalayas.

Preview: Commando!Martha! See, *this* is the Martha I wanted for this whole series. Bring on commando!Martha!! Bring on the finale!

Yes, please, and thank you. And who is that guy with her, anyway?

[identity profile] beck-liz.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm gonna say it. I love Lucy. For she is evilRose.

I love her, too. Because like Rose & the Doctor, Lucy seems to get the Master on a level that no one else does.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I loved the wife so much. She was in on it the whole time and not a dupe at all. It was awesome. And the Master seemed rather affectionately fond of her, too. Interesting, no?

She *is* evil!Rose! :D But you wonder just how much the Master's in love with her. She seems a psychotic match made in heaven!

And I could swear, although this is strictly hearsay and I can't tell you where it was stated canonically, that the Doctor stole his TARDIS.

It is canon! War Games. The Doctor stole the TARDIS originally. I like to think that he and Susan hopped a rope at a museum on Gallifrey.

The Doctor's just completely, utterly oblivious sometimes, isn't he? I mean, I just winced for her, and well. You know.

Yeah, that was an ouch.

Yeah, kind of, "I'll save your ass and then that's IT." She's been through so much and when she found out her family was in danger she was kind of losing it.

Right. It's one thing when it's just running around in time and space having fun, but that it actually has an effect on her life I think is coming as a shock.

Tell me about it. He'll probably end up just pissing the Master off and making things 100x worse.

Although honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing the Master pop up again in the future. And Lucy.

Yes, awesome! But what IS it? I want it, too.

See my latest post. Which you probably already have. :D

Yeah, and why not Jack? The only thing I can explain it away with is Jack wanting to stay near the Doctor to try to protect him, but still. Jack's the one with the connections and such, even if most of them are in the Himalayas.

Exactly. He's still got a butt-load of tech, and I'm sure operatives he could try and wrangle.

Yes, please, and thank you. And who is that guy with her, anyway?

I don't know, but if Martha falls in love with him, I AM ALL FOR MYSTERY DUDE.

[identity profile] beck-liz.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
She *is* evil!Rose! :D But you wonder just how much the Master's in love with her. She seems a psychotic match made in heaven!

She's like, totally perfect for him, from what little we saw of her. I'd seen some fanfic posted this week that theorized that she was under mind control or something, but I'm so glad that's not actually the case. She's totally with him 100%.

It is canon! War Games. The Doctor stole the TARDIS originally. I like to think that he and Susan hopped a rope at a museum on Gallifrey.

Yes! I knew I'd seen that before. And they probably did. Poor TARDIS has been through so much. *sob*

I don't know, but if Martha falls in love with him, I AM ALL FOR MYSTERY DUDE.

*dies laughing* I was thinking THE EXACT SAME THING. Awesome. Are we sharing a brain, or what?

Time Lord robes! (bwahahahahaha!)

I had a bit of a laugh over them too, although they looked slightly more stylish that I remember them in old episodes, maybe it was the lighting. Also, I can't shake the feeling that we're getting all this Gallifrey viewing as a lead up to the return of the Time Lords, which I don't want and don't think the series is ready for.

Jack finally admits he works for Torchwood. The Doctor's pissed, but it quickly passes.

Well, he quickly gets back to business, I'm not convinced he got over it. He seemed to accept Jack's "I did it for you," (and how much do I wish it had been "I did it for you...and her."), but he's not forgotten the way he sees Torchwood.

Doctor: It's like when you fancy someone and they don't know you exist. *runs off* Jack to Martha: You too, huh?I keep kinda wondering if Martha's gonna jump ship in the finale.

I can certainly see that happening after this episode. Pretty much everything that will change the way she looks at traveling with the Doctor even if she stays all hit at once, her family's in trouble, he leaves people behind, he doesn't fall in love with companions as a rule, it's Dangerous (with a capital D) to be with him. However this does make me feel somewhat more confident that if she stays next season (not that I want her to), we'll at least see the end of the unrequited love story.

Oh, the Doctor wants to save the Master. Why do I think that this is just NOT going to end well?

Because it obviously won't? He tried with the Dalek and that bit him in the ass. However the phone talk between the Doctor and the Master was probably my favorite part of the episode so I hope we see more of that in times to come.

The Master with jelly babies. Heh.

That cracked me up, they're really hitting the Master = Evil!Doctor angle.

Why exactly did Martha hop to the planet? (Oh God. I'm not allowed to make a "to update her myspace" joke am I? :-x)

Oh gods, she's going to isn't she? And really, even if Jack wouldn't leave the Doctor, he should have sent her to meet up with the TW gang in the Himalayas. Because really, what resources does Martha have on Earth right now?

[identity profile] katesutton.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
I keep kinda wondering if Martha's gonna jump ship in the finale. Her family is *messed up* because of traveling with the Doctor.

I know... I just wonder if she'll decide that she's enjoyed the trip, thanks very much, but this isn't the life she wants. She literally saved the world and now it's time to go back and be the doctor.

And I can't help it, I kind of love the Master and his crazy psychotic groupie of a wife. The thumbs-up upon killing the cabinet was-well, whoever thought THAT one up deserves a pay raise.

[identity profile] elismor.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
So. Like. Is Jack back for good?

Did Tochwood the series go bye-bye?

[identity profile] pixiesio.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
So, um, had a thought about the Master and Torchwood. What if he was the one who gave them the tech that allowed the 'ghost watch' stuff? He would have been around at the right time. Then he'd be the one responsible for what happened with Rose. And then the Doctor would find out and take on a 'screw saving him' attitude and totally kick his butt. ;)

Of course, part of me is wondering if somehow the Doctor will be responsible for killing off Lucy. 'cause I just have a feeling it's not going to end well for her. And then the Master (who really does appear to have affection for her) would really go off the deep end.

Wow, I'm just so upbeat tonight, ain't I! ;P

The freaky-hell dinner party that would be - the Master, Lucy, the Doctor and Rose. :D

Oh please, somebody write that, pretty pretty please? It's pure crack in my brain. "Rose would you tell the Master to pass to potatoes?" "Are you sure you don't want a jelly-baby? They taste like EVOL, but also sugar." "Harry be nice, we have guests, stop talking about genocide."

[identity profile] ramdonomo.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
