Hiya!

So what did *you* do during the LJ blackout? Oh, have a life, you say? *squints eyes* I don't like you.

At least I had [livejournal.com profile] manticoran to flail with me over on GJ.

(Actually, I spent the evening watching more Carnivale episodes. I can't believe I'm nearly done with the show. Really, REALLY have liked watching it so far. I've seen comments about people wanting it to go on, and maybe it doesn't end resolutely, but it's really a show that *needs* to end. It's definitely telling a story that has a beginning, middle and end. Hmm. I may queue up Rome next.)

Oh, this was a very, very long evening. At least it was my turn to give the kid a bath and take him to bed--I was glad for the distraction.

Rome is made of win.

Ah, real life. The break from LJ... :D

Rome is made of win.

I saw that Netflix has S2 coming out on August 7, so I'll probably be able to work my way up there around then.

Luckily I had a long work meeting and then did some grocery shopping after work so I wasn't too inconvenienced, but I do admit to hugging my laptop and getting a bit weepy when it came back up. LJ is crack and I am apparently a big crackwhore.

I spent the evening watching more Carnivale episodes.

Oh, that's good to hear. I've had Carnivale on my netflix queue for ages...sounds like I need to move it to the top. And Rome's great...it's like a softcore porn historical soap opera...completely awesome.

I'll admit to checking out 6A's status website, watching TypePad come back up and Vox and so on. Then finally LJ. Am super crackwhore.

Carnivale is weird and trippy and dark and pushes the right surreal buttons with me.

And I've heard that about Rome. :D

Er, what blackout? Must have occurred while I was at home - where, at the moment,I don't have access to the net anyway. ^^

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Big old blackout for about...6 or 7 hours? Power went out in San Francisco, and LJ, Vox, TypePad and some others went down.

[identity profile] caffey.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man. Seems to me I always miss the good stuff. *shakes head*

[identity profile] sesaworuban.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't even notice the LJ blackout.

*takes smug bow*

HUGS

PTHTHTHTHTHT!!

So THAT'S where everyone goes when the crack supply dries up around here.

Oh, and I'll second the motion of Rome being made of win. Pullo is The Man.

Probably JournalFen as well, but I don't have an account over there. *clings to LJ*

Woo!

There was a lj blackout?

*grins*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
*waggles tongue*

[identity profile] vegmb.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
There was a blackout? Hmmm...who knew. Actually, I have considered HP as a WIP until the final book was released, so yesterday I bought the first one and started reading it last night and didn't even turn on my computer. [takes temperature] Does this mean I may be starting to have a life again? Surely not.

[identity profile] vegmb.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
ummm...now I see the effects b/c there is nothing on my flist to read this morning...is bored now.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. Yeah - a posting hole.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. Have you seen the outside world? While you were in it? You might be starting to having a live again. ;D

[identity profile] vegmb.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I only saw it when I ran to the grocery store with the kids and the MIL...then I ran back into the house and hid in the book. :)

[identity profile] solielle.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I spent the blackout reading the new Harry Potter book. I'm so sure that constitutes having a life. Especially since every other chapter I was all, "Is LJ working? I wanna talk about this! Is it working yet? How 'bout now? Now?"

I also made bread pudding. Tasty.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh heh. I did the occasional LJ check too.

*pauses Carnivale*

*clicks*

DAMMIT!

:D

[identity profile] beck-liz.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I ended up giving up after awhile and going to sulk read Harry Potter fanfiction on the couch. And watch Eureka. Heh.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
My brief moment of wanting to read fic, like I mentioned to you yesterday, was gone by the time I got home. I have very short windows of fic-reading desire.

[identity profile] pixiesio.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I discovered it once I got home from having my hair did, and I was muchly perturbed. Checked a couple of times to see if it was back up, but then I went to bed, so I guess I had a life?

As for Rome, yes, very soapy, very prony. And The Tudors too. Woo!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I was about to go to bed when it popped back up again. Heh.

And The Tudors? I've not heard of that.

[identity profile] pixiesio.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
http://www.sho.com/site/tudors/home.do

A Showtime show, only one season and 10 eps so far, but OMGTEHPRON!!eleventy!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! So...any plot at all?

[identity profile] pixiesio.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, basically starts with a young Henry VIII and his first wife, who have been married a while. A lot teh secks with the hawt Henry, 'cause boy did he have an appetite! ;)

[identity profile] diavestra.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't know about it. It was my son's birthday and the day was spent in celebrations. And then I crashed when we got home. At 6 pm.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwww. Did you do anything fun?

[identity profile] diavestra.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Birthday bash at Rainforest Cafe, the kids were allowed to pick something from the store there, then we trekked to the Lego Store where they were able to pick something as well.
