Hmmmm.

So I'm off work today. \o/ Have done laundry and have traveled to the *good* produce market, which is down the freeway. (I'm going to attempt a fresh corn salad that I'm making up, based on one I had for lunch the other day. Will post recipe in recipe community if it's good.)

I'd been thinking about going to the movies this afternoon, and maybe seeing Harry Potter. But then I noticed that the Simpsons movie is actually getting pretty good reviews. Have to say I'm a bit surprised. I mean, I really like the Simpsons and all, but you know how it goes when a TV show hits the big screen - it can be iffy. I wasn't even planning on seeing it, due to the presumed iffy.

So...hmm. Of course, I could see one today and one tomorrow...

Also, the Bourne Ultimatum is out today, and if you're into that sort of action-adventure spy thriller sort of thing, I hear it's really good.

I can't comment on the Simpsons, as I've never watched the TV show - I know, I'm weird. :-) But of course you know that I think the HP movie was great.

It is CHUCKFULL of SQUEE in all of its most basic forms! Trust me, it will make you smile. A LOT.

Unless your soul is dead. And then it might give you a mild headache.

Thanks to the radio commercials, I can't get Homer singing "Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig, Doing whatever it is Spider-Pigs do" out of my head. Not sure if that's a pro or con to you seeing the movie. :)

I saw the first movie, but didn't fall in love with it or anything. I can't even remember if I saw the second.

I may do HP today. Haven't decided yet.

BWAH!! I'm not in the mood for a flashy musical right now... *adds to Netflix waiting list*

It might say something about me that I'm laughing at this:

You know what's cool about the Simpsons?

Springfield, Vermont won some sort of online competition to be the actual residence of the Simpsons, which is kind of neat since MY PARENTS LIVE IN VERMONT AND THAT IS WHERE I CURRENTLY LIVE.

I mean, I'm far away from Springfield, but nothing cool ever happens in this state, so this was big news.

Point is, if you went to see the Simpsons, it would be like we were connected. Sort of. Well, maybe a little. Okay, not really.

*wanders away mumbling to herself*

The Simpsons movie is hysterical. Seriously. The audience was uproarious, and I laughed so hard in places there were tears. If you like the show, it's definitely worth it. And if you do see it, I recommend sitting through the entire credits sequence. :)

Awwwww! Well, I'm seriously considering seeing that movie tomorrow. And so now I will think of you. :D

Ooooooh! Always nice to hear from someone who's actually seen it! Yeah, I may see that tomorrow. :)

Might go see the Simpsons this weekend. Not particularly sure at the moment but I was surprised at the good reviews that it has been getting.

I'm thinking about going to the Kwit-E-Mart (sp?) first over in Burbank (the closest one here) like right before the movie but again depends on many factors one of which is whether or not I could deal with another long line... *has HP book release flashbacks*

Anyway, have fun deciding!

I've seen both, and I was actually very surprised to find myself enjoying HP over the Simpsons movie. I hated the first four HP adaptations, but the fifth was tightly directed, very entertaining and even had a few moments of humour thrown in. The Simpsons movie was good, but very much an overlong episode of the series.

I hope you like both movies, but HP manages to win in my regard. :)

So...hmm. Of course, I could see one today and one tomorrow...

Best way to avoid a conflict.

We're going to see Potter today.

I heard they converted to Kwik-E-Marts or whatever, but the one closest to me is across town, and...I'm not *super* interested in that... :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-28 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah? Hmm. Well, I think I'm headed to the Simpsons right now. But I guess you can't really expect a whole lot more than a long episode.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-28 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Have fun!

[identity profile] poohmusings.livejournal.com 2007-07-30 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
HA! And ack! Now the song's stuck in my head again!
