Man, I'm tired.

  • My car is now stealth!car! Sure it doesn't have A/C, but it can sneak up on you now! *pats new muffler* (Okay, yeah. I really do need to get a new car since there are other minor things wrong with it as well. But...I'm cheap. And if I can make it go for $93 instead of spending $16,000...)

  • Confession time. I've never read the msscribe thing all the way through. I started a couple of times when my flist would point to it, but kept wandering off. I think it's the "Oooh, SHINY! *is distracted by photoshop/games/playing on LJ*" thing.

And so I've decided I either need the bullet point version of the msscribe thing, or else I need to see it in stick figure form. *nods*

  • I think I need to go back to bed. *YAWN*

  • Rome Rome Rome Rome! ROME!

  • I'm kinda consumed by Rome at the moment, but I'm also getting the urge to get back to classic Who. In the mood for Two right now.

Quiet stealth car for under $100 - Good!

And I see your crow bar and see you a P-90!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Under $100 stealth!car! Woo! I'm a happy person.

I...have nothing to raise.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
But I still like your crowbar. In fact, it was the inspiration for my P-90 icon.

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for steathcar!

And more YAY for Two! *points to icon*

Seriously, you'll be cheering and tearing your hair out over Rome. Trust me on this. *Pete Tyler thumbs up*

I've never read the msscribe thing either! I honestly really have no idea what it's about, and I've tried to care, but I think I'm just too self-involved. It takes a lot to get me interested in people I don't know.

[identity profile] diavestra.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I started watching The Tudors on demand yesterday. I see much viewing in my future (looks like the first season is being taken down September 4, so I must finish watching by then!) I shall have to check out Rome.

FYI, I think you'd like The Tudors...

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Must ask, where did you get that icon of Two?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Two really is adorable, no? He's so timid!

And Rooooooome!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. Yeah. I know it's the ultimate in wank or something, but I find it so hard to be interested in wank/the underside of fandom most the time.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I've heard of the Tudors and that I need to watch it. Doesn't look like it's out on DVD yet, but I've saved it on Netflix.

[identity profile] buckbeakbabie.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I read it and couldn't believe that I was IN the HP fandom back then, and missed all of it. Seriously, ALL of it. The wars between the two sites (I was a member of BOTH, but only really active on one...) I was blissfully unaware. *boggles*

*wishes I could be immune to the wank in the Who fandom*

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I've always felt really uncomfortable with the idea of mocking and laughing at other people for entertainment, so I've always felt a bit turned off by everything on f_W.

Ha! That's pretty amusing. :)

*wishes I could be immune to the wank in the Who fandom*

Yeah, tell me about it. I try to ignore it as much as possible, right up until something pisses me off.

[identity profile] makesometime.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Please don't hurry to see it. It's horrible, horrible stuff. I may be saying this because they BUTCHER history - I've heard Rome is veeery good at history, so they can't be compared - and most of the people are miscast, especially Henry VIII.

Anne Boleyn is pretty though /shallow.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, and a lot just seems so redundant. Back when I watched it, there was a lot of:

1) Person makes unintentionally stupid post in community.

2) People swoop in to rip him/her a new one.

3) Person gets pissed and fights back/posts in own journal/makes grand announcement that they are leaving the community forever.

It's been done a MILLION times and weirdly enough, some never get tired of it.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh. Hmm.

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, right. That, too.

Though mostly in my case, I feel dirty and weird. And also, I've been in way to many shipping groups that were constantly picked on by f_w, so I'm probably naturally suspicious. :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww. Yeah, there's definitely a lot of "look how uncool they are, and by posting/commenting about how uncool they are, I am very very cool and have personal worth." (However, sometimes there is the genuine "WTFF?" wank pointed out. I'm thinking this msscribe thing falls into that category.)

Heh. Speaking of ship and f_w, it's obvious there's a troll somewhere out there, carefully watching Doctor/Rose shipper journals at the moment. That latest wank_report thing, as well as the ship newsletter being reported to w_r before it even had an up-and-running post. And it's also obvious that it's very much "I HATE HATE HATE D/R shippers and all they stand for and like!! *STOMPS, POUTS, ACTS 5* I will report their every move to w_r so that people will help me in mocking them (and so that I might feel better about myself.)" Nutjob.

[identity profile] pixiesio.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's supposed to make sense with history? I thought it was all about putting massive amounts of pron onscreen? ;)

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I would agree on the "WTF" of msscribe if I had any idea of what that was really about. I do, however, have a vague gist of what the Cassie Claire thing was about, so I don't feel like I'm living *completely* under a rock. *G*

That latest wank_report thing, as well as the ship newsletter being reported to w_r before it even had an up-and-running post.

Yeah, how did THAT happen? It wasn't like the newsletter was really even advertised anywhere publicly until it was up and running. Creepy!

And it's also obvious that it's very much "I HATE HATE HATE D/R shippers and all they stand for and like!! *STOMPS, POUTS, ACTS 5* I will report their every move to w_r so that people will help me in mocking them (and so that I might feel better about myself.)"

Yeah. Because our squee kills little children and furry animals!

The weird journal-stalking is definitely something new, though. I've NEVER thought to myself: "Oh, I'll stalk this group of fandom people I don't like in hopes that I can link their public posts to f_w." I mean... why?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
HA!!

And now I'm laughing about the thought of TPTB of Rome.

PTB#1: *reading from textbook* And then Caesar crossed the Rubicon.

PTB#2: Betcha there was lots of sex going on while that happened.

PTB#1: What, Caesar was having sex while he crossed the Rubicon?

PTB#2: Nonono. Don't be ridiculous. Every last person in Rome was having sex while Caesar crossed the Rubicon.

PTB#1: Well, duh. Hmm. I think we might need the props department to acquire more oil.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish that we could just eliminate 2) and 3). It would make for a lot less wank...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. That it would.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Although, eliminating 1) would be nice as well. :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, I'm so clueless - I thought Cassie Claire was all wrapped up in this msscribe thing.

Clearly I need some sort of flow chart or map.

Yeah, how did THAT happen? It wasn't like the newsletter was really even advertised anywhere publicly until it was up and running. Creepy!

Well, the newsletter made a sample post before it was publicly announced. I'm guessing someone saw it on their friendsfriends list. At least, hopefully it was that, rather than someone neurotically checks people's user info pages for any new friends/communities. If that's the case - serious nutjob.

Yeah. Because our squee kills little children and furry animals!

Apparently, man. Which only makes me want to squee the louder. Little children and furry animals be damned!

I mean... why?

Little else in their lives?
