pants are good. I never leave home without them. Particularly the under kind.

Comes with age, you know.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Does wanting to throw yourself at Bob Newhart's chest also come with age?

[identity profile] diavestra.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I think that's pretty much a sign of mental instability.

And for the record, *I* do *NOT* want to fling myself at Bob's chest.

Here, have a Richard Armitage.

Oh wait, that doesn't help with the cooling down does it?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
NO! NO IT DOESN'T!

Heh. I've been watching Robin Hood in the other room and came back over to the computer to check what bloody temperature it was outside for window-opening purposes. The Robin Hood theme music is currently blaring. I keep yelling "shut the hell up!" at it, but it doesn't seem to listen.

Best. Post. Ever.

I may just be tired, though.

I think you may be tired. :D

OMG I KNOW.

Seriously, why don't I just crawl into my oven, California. That might be a little cooler.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
NO KIDDING. UGH. The worst part is that I'm on the bottom floor, and so leaving my windows open overnight is just plain OUT.

When will this weather END?!?!

Your icon reminds me that I have to buy another small fan to keep on the desk.

Yes I know. I should have bought it a LONG time ago, like when this really intense weather started.

*Is glad that at least the sun is gone for the day*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Sadly, looks like we're going to have it until Wednesday or Thursday. *pants again* And oooh. A desk fan. Never thought about something like that...

Wednesday?!? So far away.

Desk fan just sounds wonderful at the moment because it'll be directed at me! It's a nice addition to drinking ice cold water.

FALALALA.

*IS CANADIAN*

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Meaning: I would feel bad for you if I had any sort of comprehension of what temperatures that hot actually felt like.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
But it's WAY funnier if you just went around randomly saying "FALALALA" due to your Canadianness. :D

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure I do so compulsively anyway. FALALALALA.

Anyway. *hands you an ice cube because I'm a humanitarian*

[identity profile] pixiesio.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I think it depends on where you live and how hot she's talking about. We've had some stinkin' hot days here this summer in the capital.

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. We had some hot days, too, I guess. LIKE WHEN I MOVED. BECAUSE I AM THAT LUCKY. But "hot" for us usually implies hitting about 90 degrees, and I understand that it gets hotter than that in other parts of the world. *shudders*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It was 100 here yesterday, and weatherunderground is telling me it's supposed to be hotter today, which does not compute. Although, they use the phrase "Today is forecast to be Warmer than yesterday." which is just pussyfooting around, in my opinion. Just say, "It's going to be bloody hot."

I woke up early to open my windows, but it looks like it won't be for long. Apparently we'll hit 80 by 8 a.m.

Write me D/R snuggling on a polar ice cap! It will help. *BIG EYES*

Heh. They ended up in Canada.

[identity profile] pixiesio.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if the weather is so hot, how come you're wearing pants? Personally I'd at least go for shorts.

I feel your pain. It's been ridiculously hot. If I lived alone, I'd spend all homebound hours naked.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not quite there yet - the little wall A/C is sorta keeping me semi-cool. Barely.

Exchange time now, please?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
YES PLEASE.

[identity profile] fiona-conn.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
If you have a fan, have you tried sitting a bag of ice-cubes in front of it and then turning the fan on? It wafts the cool air through the room and helps a bit (at least, until the ice cubes melt...)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I do have a wall A/C out in the living room, which I then use fans to direct air to the rest of my place. But hmmm. Might have to attempt the ice cube thing. Am getting desperate.

[identity profile] fiona-conn.livejournal.com 2007-09-02 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Just make sure to put the bag of icecubes on a plate, or better yet, in a bowl -- water and electricity do not mix, and you don't want to short out your fan (or give yourself electric shock).
