Oooooooh!

Just saw that Disneyland's got their pumpkin decorations up as of this past weekend. Pics from last year. (You have to scroll down a bit to get to them. Some DCA pics first.)

Hmmm. Do I want to make a Disneyland run before [livejournal.com profile] poohmusings comes down in about a month? (At about an hour and fifteen minutes one way, the drive is always what makes me pause.)

Yes, you want to go. For, not next summer, but the summer after (2009) the convention I go to every summer will be in San Diego. I know chances are I'll not be in California before that and for a long time after, so I going for extra time and making a jaunt to Disneyland. I brought it up to my mom and she said she thinks she needs to go with me (we have family in the northern part of the state or she would go play in LA while I conventioned away)! I need scouting reports for a year and half from now. And I like looking at pictures.

Oh, I can definitely give you scouting reports. :D I usually get an annual pass to the park, and so make several trips during the year.

You know, I love that this is even a possibility for you.

I do too. It's been nice to wake up on a random Saturday morning and decide to go to Disneyland. And it's *very* nice to have a pass so I don't feel like I have to stay the whole day to get my money's worth. I can sit for an hour drinking coffee and watching the ducks scoot out of the way of the canoes without feeling like I need to be packing in the rides.

OMG, really?!

You must tell me when you make it out this way. I'll totally show you around LA. And I used to work at Dland and had a pass there for about 12 years...so I can show you around the park as well and give you a bit of a backstage dirt. :-)

I only live about 30 miles from the park (in LA)...actually, scratch that. Less now that I've moved slightly closer. But even though this is the first year in 12 years that I haven't had a pass I haven't seen the cool Halloween decorations. So wrong. I think I might have to fix that this year...but I'm kinda broke.

Man, and I just saw that the prices for everything - one days, annuals went up again. Eeek.

The Halloween decorations - I like them better than the Christmas decorations. Although, maybe that's because I've seen the Christmas decorations for a number of years now.

*gets a bigger itch to go to the park*

It will be in the summer of 2009, late July/early August. I can't promise to spend anytime in LA outside of the airport. I really was only planning on a couple of extra days for Disneyworld, but I have almost two years to change my mind about that. The six days of convention will be just that, convention. The organization I'm in (NSCL) celebrates it's 50th year that year and I'm a former officer.

That being said, I LOVE talking to Cast Member and getting backstage dirt. I'm one of those folks that love to know the behind-the-scenes stuff. It makes it almost more real for me. So, share, share, share!

I second the loving the behind-the-scenes stuff. I demand postings! :D

I am trying to decide whether to try to fit it in this Friday or not. That's our only possibility this weekend, as the rest of the days are spoken for. Next weekend is pretty busy as well. Sheesh, now that I think about it, if we don't go on Friday, it's going to be mid-October at the earliest.

I'm kinda debating about it myself. I might just wait until Karen's out here in October.
