Monday numbers.

  1. I spent a lot of the weekend sleeping, trying to shake a bit of a cold. It was very very dull. No, really. The highlight was when [livejournal.com profile] diavestra kept texting me from Disneyland on Friday night.

  2. As far as the DW thing that 'sploded yesterday, I am a cynical bitch. I refuse to get worked up anymore until something's actually confirmed by official-type people. *thinks of all the rumors of the past, only 10% of which ever came true* (If it were confirmed by official-type people, there would be much spazzing. Like...MUCH.)

  3. I *kinda* got the urge to watch the first episode of SGA this season, just to check things out. But then the urge passed when I realized I still have never watched the finale of SG-1. Jack wasn't even in the finale, was he? That's just WRONG.

  4. Until 15 minutes ago, I'd never heard of a cider donut. And now I want one.

  5. It's October! Favorite time of year.

  6. ETA: And I still have never watched the finales of Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls. I just...don't care?

[identity profile] misssimm.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope he wasn't.

Also, GG final is worth watching, it was a nice ending :)

VM? Not so much.

[identity profile] ninamazing.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
But ... VERONICA!

*crushed*

[identity profile] ninamazing.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
HEY! You can't just abandon a show like that!

:( :( :( :(

(It's a mark of how much I feel we all owe Rob Thomas for Season 1 that I can't keep my mouth shut even to people I don't know in other people's journals. Hi. Nice to meet you.)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I've heard that about the GG finale, but yet I just can't get motivated to watch it for some reason.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I had a wild fling with VM. Between when S2 and S3 aired, I bought S1 to watch for the first time, since it was on sale for like $18. LOVED it and went right out and bought S2. Then started watching S3 as it aired, and began to fall out with it. The rape storyline kinda started to kill it for me. Comment about it back then. (http://poohmusings.livejournal.com/191887.html?thread=2182031#t2182031) And then...I'm not sure how many episodes towards the end I never watched. :-\

[identity profile] pro-hominum.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I did that with Profiler. I was *obsessed* with that show but just could not bring my self to watch the final episode with Sam in (I did not consider the season that came after that to be worth bothering with)

No, Jack wasn't in the season finale which was just all kinds of wrong.

What 'sploded? I need to find these communities so I can start with the mocking!

No, no Jack. Hell, no stargate. They were on a spaceship.

Just stick with Moebius as the finale. You're better off.

I am sorry about the donut craving. But! It is perfectly reasonable to order some online when not a single person in your weird state makes them!

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I was so bored during the finale of GG that I can't remember more than five seconds of it. Hmmm.

I also can't remember what happened in the VM finale, though I do think I liked it. You know, it's kind of a wonder I can find my way to school in the morning.

It's October! Favorite time of year.

OOH! Pretty colours. And also cold, dark and rainy. Woe.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, the tabloids once again announced that BP was this close to returning to Who. I just can't get excited about it - the tabloids have cried wolf one too many times. But from what I understand, that didn't stop some from getting downright nasty about it with "ZOMG, ROSE HAS/WILL FOREVER RUIN WHO!!!!11!! *THROWS FIT*" and the like.

[identity profile] velvet4269.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I felt the SG1 finale was both a cop-out and a let down. You're not missing anything.

And DW stuff? I apparently missed something (or maybe I'm better off). But a friend of mine just posted some DW fan art in her LJ (along with some Avatar: the last air bender, batman, and Samurai Champloo fan art).

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)

Lame.

I really do kinda think of that as a finale. It was goofy and *fun*. They got to kill Daniel and he stayed dead. Sorta. (That had to have cracked everyone up.) And the Sam and Jack snog, which was hysterical. Plus they went back to the beginning, and at the end all 4 of them wound up fishing at Jack's cabin. How cool was that?

I am sorry about the donut craving. But! It is perfectly reasonable to order some online when not a single person in your weird state makes them!

Where would one get such online donuts? *ponders getting some for the office*

I was so bored during the finale of GG that I can't remember more than five seconds of it. Hmmm.

I heard it was nice. Not sure about thrilling, but that it was a nice nod to a lot of the characters in that universe.

I also can't remember what happened in the VM finale, though I do think I liked it. You know, it's kind of a wonder I can find my way to school in the morning.

You should get a personal GPS!

"Turn left in 20 steps. Turn left in 10 steps. Turn left. Your other left."

OOH! Pretty colours. And also cold, dark and rainy. Woe.

We generally don't get so much of the rain down here. Just nice cooler temps.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I felt the SG1 finale was both a cop-out and a let down. You're not missing anything.

I kinda got that impression from the flist back when it aired. Not from everyone, but enough.

And DW stuff? I apparently missed something (or maybe I'm better off).

Tabloids are at it again.

But a friend of mine just posted some DW fan art in her LJ (along with some Avatar: the last air bender, batman, and Samurai Champloo fan art).

I dont' know about online, but they sell cider doughnuts all over the place up at Oak Glen. The line was huge at both places we saw them, though. Seems everyone wants cider doughnuts.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
HA! I *just* saw that! Don't know the next time I'll be making it up to Oak Glen though.

Huh. I wonder if they're any good? I was always so disappointed by west coast cider, even in Oregon and Washington.

Please to be checking them out next time and reporting back kthx.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
But Moebius is when the series DID end. There were only eight season of Stargate SG-1. I don't know what universe you're living in... :)

Lame.

Indeed. < /Teal'c > Some fans were all "That was a slap in the face to fandom" and "They did it just to upset us!" I think it was just lame.

I love Moebius so much. It's the perfect finale. I also would have been happy with Full Circle, because it went back to the pilot, too.

Where would one get such online donuts? *ponders getting some for the office*

The place I linked to in my post will ship them! And they are the best cider donuts I've ever had.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I was disappointed with the S10 finale. I like to think that the series ended with season 8. That was a much better ending for a program...

I watched SGA cause, well it was downloaded and I really didn't have anything better to do. I mainly watched it cause Jewell Strait is on it and I'm curious to see how they bring Sam on-board.

And I hope they get this DW thing under control. I'm tired of the idiotic rumor-mill...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It kinda did for me as well. I did try though.

Some fans were all "That was a slap in the face to fandom" and "They did it just to upset us!" I think it was just lame.

*snickers* I'm not sure any PTB ever really have the intention to piss off fans. They're just trying to make entertaining entertainment. Of course, they sometimes fail at it.

I love Moebius so much. It's the perfect finale. I also would have been happy with Full Circle, because it went back to the pilot, too.

Full Circle was another good one, although I don't think I was ready for the show to be done at that point.

The place I linked to in my post will ship them! And they are the best cider donuts I've ever had.

OH! That was a link to a donut place! I thought you were talking about the Atkins Diet or something, so I didn't click it.

Heh heh. I kept watching because I'm a canon whore, but I still wish they'd ended with S8.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I watched that "NEW and NOT SO IMPROVED" show (Stargate SG-1 - 2.0) but it didn't have the same feeling as the original. The dynamics were missing and I just couldn't love any of them.

So I'll forever watch the original series and try to forget that horrible remake of my beloved show!

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The last two seasons of SG-1 were a cop-out. It's an example of something that decided to beyond it's prime and started making a mockery of itself...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
And I hope they get this DW thing under control. I'm tired of the idiotic rumor-mill...

Nah, the press department likes the tabloids. Keeps interest/buzz about the show without them having to spend a dime. I, however, am sick of it.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I know there were other examples of shows that went on past their prime but I just can't think of them right now.

And yeah, I kept watching them too but I nly have seasons 1-8 on file...

I like to think how much nicer it was 30 years ago when there wasn't so much hype in regards to things like this.

The press (and the intrawebs) only stir it up so, so, so much...

Heh. Yes. I always get so amused at fans' contention that TPTB are out to get them. Most of the time they just do their jobs like the rest of us ... with probably the same number of good days and bad days and thoroughly lazy days as the rest of us. The meeting that resulted in the S10 finale concept fell, I think, on a lazy day.

OH! That was a link to a donut place! I thought you were talking about the Atkins Diet or something, so I didn't click it.

Yes, because the Atkins diet is so obviously something I would be interested in. :P

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
There really needs to be some sort of Canon Whore Club where we sit around and bemoan our whoreish ways.

I suppose it doesn't make much sense considering the last time you ate meat was in 1989 or something.

Roger. Although it will now be next year before we go back, since I can only convince Rob to make one trip a year, in the fall.

[identity profile] misssimm.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't abandon it, I watched to the end and felt they could have got some very interesting stuff out of the finale. But RT knew they probably wouldn't be coming back and it ended like that...I'd go into details on this but Michelle may watch it waaaay down the line so I won't!

& nice to meet you too :)

[identity profile] misssimm.livejournal.com 2007-10-01 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't blame you for that considering how hit and miss it became!

Plus I'm the same for the end of the last season of BSG. I've heard it's good and yet I'm still not caught up on it.

3. a) I wouldn't say the SGA season premiere was *bad* (hey, if Zelenka gets a pseudo-action scene I'm pretty happy). But it was...different.

3. b) I say nothing about the SG-1 finale. *mutters*

3. z) And now I'm slightly scandalised that I haven't watched "Moebius" yet. ("Threads" is one of my favourite episodes, though.) But hey- long weekend coming up!

2. I'm still amused at how large a role tabloid gossip plays in fandom. When I first came in, I was pretty much expecting everyone to be...well...'canon whores'.

4. Sounds Christmassy.

5. Yay! Although downside: it's cold. And dark. Especially when I leave for school. *sighs*

Procrastinating? Math? What?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-02 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
You haven't watched Moebius? But it's so fun! And this from a person who generally can't stand time travel/AU plots. *WAVES AWAY DW*

And I can really start to tell that it's getting dark earlier. And a bit cooler. Not much yet.

ETA: And I still have never watched the finales of Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls. I just...don't care?

I never was a GG person, but eventually, I just deleted the last two episodes of VM off my DVR. *shrug* It was plain I was never going to work up the interest required to watch them, which is sad.

And you're probably better off not watching the last episode of SG-1. I mean, it was fine; it would've even been good... as a middle episode of a season. As a series finale? With no Jack? Blech. I think I'm counting "200" as my series finale.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I think there's also the DVD movies in my mind. I know there's actually going to be more of SG-1 - and one with Jack, right? - so I just can't really care that much.
