I just remembered that I might be going to a Halloween party this year. (And people do generally get dressed up around here at work - I wear my Mickey Mouse ears. Heh.) So I'm thinking of getting an actual costume this year.
No idea what to get yet, but man, if I'd want to be a witch, the costume stores have me covered 100 times over.
ETA: Ugh. What sucks is that these costumes are generally so cheaply made, but yet cost as much as a real outfit. Or more.
ETA2: A witch, or if I'd want to look like an escapee from a cheap porno.

You laughed at me way back when, but...
If you would like to borrow my jedi costume (light sabre included), you are welcome to.
You'll need to find your own pants and boots, though.

Them: Hmm. Who are you?
Me: Rose Tyler
Them: Who?
Me: She's a character on Doctor Who.
Them: What?
Me: Third base.

My friends would totally know who Rose Tyler was, though. MAYBE I'LL BUY A PLUNGER AND GO AS A DALEK!

AWWW! No, my friends would get the Star Wars stuff, but Doctor Who? Not a chance. I'd bet they'd never even heard of it.

Everything should fit you--with the possible exception of the under-tunic sleeves, which are cut to bunch at the wrist (I have teeny, tiny wrists).
But the robe, tabbards, tunic, obi, belt, etc should all be fine.

Okay. I will box it up for you.
The light sabre has two pieces--a hilt that can hang from your belt and an acryllic rod that is the blade. It's kind of a pain to carry with the blade in (since it won't hang without dragging on the floor). Do you want both pieces?

(And if you could send to my work instead of home, that'd be faboo.)

Please to be mailing me your work address, then?

Last year I went as Elphaba/the Wicked Witch of the West. Because villains have more fun that time of year, it seems. :D
Cosplay comms are good resources if you know what you want to go as and need to find cheap pieces. /geek

Didn't even think of that.

Didn't even think of that.
Most people don't, because they tend to put cosplay and Halloween into two seperate categories in their heads, for some reason. *shrug*

My default costume is a witch, because I have a kick-ass witch hat and lovely velvet cloak. But I feel more the need to be either piratey or wenchy this year, so that I go along with the guys. *sigh*

I attempted to show DW to a friend once, who commented "That was, um, interesting. We don't need to watch more, do we?" MWAH.

And if I knew how to be a pirate witch, I totally would. Unfortunately, I do *not* want to end up looking like Tia Dalma...
