You know, I never quite get the point of these team-based competitions. Other than to create drama, I mean. Maybe in the long run it's good to get the designers to stretch out of their comfort zone? However it seems like invariably whoever is the team leader winds up taking the fall, their ability to lead tripping them up more than their ability to design/cook/count toads.

Of course in this case the two at the end made DAMN fugly outfits and so I didn't feel quite as bad.

Still.

I really hate the team competitions. And you really would think that by now, they'd get it that team leaders are pretty much screwed.

Besides the obvious drama generated which makes for more TV time, I think it's just a way to get rid of the incompetent narcissists, really. B/c you have to be damn pleased with yourself/abilities to think you can survive as the leader; which is fine when you actually are good, but as so often is the case...

Victoria at least realized it was better not to be the team leader. Passive-aggressive is indeed the word for her, and it worked. The judges spout that "but you're the leader" thing every damn time with these team efforts.

You really would think these people would actually WATCH past seasons before they go on the show.

You would, wouldn't you?

Well, there's always that. :D

She's probably watched the show.

I know, and most the time it drives me a bit bats. Judge the outfit! I could care less about their leadership abilities.

I'm with you. You would think actually trying to step up and be the leader would count for something, but no. An underling could intentionally sabotage the team, and the leader would still take the fall for it. Because he/she wasn't displaying good leadership abilities.

Right right. Who knows - Victoria could have even been that smart about it all.
