*stares*

I keep staring at my flist like a deer in the headlights. There's just so much to try and catch up on. O_O

Other news - I had a great Christmas break. One of the days we went to Griffith Observatory and had fun geeking out at the Tesla Coil they have. The brother pointed me to this Tesla-related video, which is fairly cool.

It wasn't as good as the first one. For one thing it didn't seem like there were as many clues. Oh, and we decided that if you ever have relationship problems, just go on a thrilling treasure hunt and your problems will be solved. That was good to find out. It was still entertaining enough - fairly mindless popcorn movie, but enough adventure and fun characters to make it enjoyable.

ETA: Oh, and in keeping with my tendency to react to things years after the fact, I finally saw that movie Madagascar. Insane penguins! WOO!!

My sister wants to see the movie just for the sidekick guy. He gets all the best lines. I don't think I'd be able to handle it - the first one almost gave me an aneurysm. I'm like that with all pseudo-archaeology/ancient myth movies outside of Indiana Jones, though. Troy? Spent the entire time bitching that the Iliad was better and that there wasn't enough gay.

*snickers*

Yeah, there was plenty of questionable history in this one as well. You pretty much have to be able to switch the brain off. And that sidekick does get the best lines. :D

Eh, maybe I'll rent it, then, so I can mock without having to whisper.

LOL! Yeah, I've found both movies to be just that, mindless popcorn movies. Turn the mind off and enjoy. :)

Pretty much the perfect thing to watch while on vacation.

You could use filters! My flist always gets a lot shorter when I cut out communities and such.

Also: WOOOO! You're back on LJ! *GLOMPS*

I'm not actually watching very many communities - it's just the pile of people. Lots of posts on VotD and not sure if I'll ever be able to catch up with them all. I need to catch up with [livejournal.com profile] dwrewatch as well. I'm so glad we didn't schedule an episode to watch for Christmas. I'm going to need the extra time to watch The Long Game.

*GLOMPS BACK*

King Julien is pleased that another giant pansy has watched his excellent plan in action.

Bwahahahahaha!

Dude, those penguins are the best! And King Julian, just for his dance moves :D

I could really care less about the actual story, but I'm seriously tempted to buy the DVD just for those penguins. :D

Hah, I saw Nat'l Treasure today. I was just happy that what real history they included, they did accurately--I was expecting to not see Booth with a broken leg, but he was definitely having issues with his leg when he mounted that horse.

Also, the brief bit in France made me happy. Sure, they had "soeurs something(i didn't read fast enough)" written as the clue for twin sisters instead of "jumelles" but the fact that they had the second French cop pretending he spoke English by repeating every couple of words was such a nice little touch I could forgive them the mistranslation.

I mean, at least as far as popcorn movies go, an effort's made towards it being about more than just stuff getting blown up or OMG!SpecialEFFECTS!

Though, let's face it...I mostly watch for Riley. Loved him in this. I would have him sign a copy of his book for me, hah.

I was thinking about that too when I saw it!

I was just happy that they didn't go for some French stereotype.

*nods* I do like that there's an actual plot to these movies.

Ha! He's so cute.
