I want you all to know that I am running off to Vegas with Photoshop. EEEEE! We're getting married in the Elvis Chapel O Love. I'm so excited! My wedding colors are 54 0 134 and 231 215 255. *sigh* Not sure if I'll wear 255 255 255 yet.

For all the graphic hounds out there, should something that big be split up? The file size is about 51k and it loads in a decent amount of time over my 56k modem...at least it seems okay to me. :-\

Anyone with an 800x600 resolution willing to check it out? Does it fit? Too wide? I guess the picture is really formatted for 1024x768.

I think that size is fine. Too much larger may be an issue, but 51K should download in not much more than a second over a modem.

In terms of the size, it looks fine at my honking resolution, which is larger than 1024x768. Based on Jara's screen shot, it also looks fine at 800x600. You basically have to decide to support one or the other if you're going to do it. I've recently done stuff that is 800x600 size specifically. My LJ though is sized for 1024x768, which is fine for me. It's all personal preference.

Well, that's always true. It's not like your LJ in that sense.

Does your hosting company provide web site stats? If so, perhaps one of them is the resolution that visitors are running at. Take a look. If most are running 800x600, then size it for that resolution.

If you don't have that stat but do have some logs, I'd be more than happy to run a few through my company's Web Analytics tool which will provide that information.

50% of people have the 1024x768, 37% have 800x600, and then about 20 other sizes make up the rest.

In that case, tailor your images to 1024x768, and you'll be doing the right thing by the majority of your visitors.

Well I think they still haven't figured out a way to make wienerdogs look good when they sit with the fleece on. It keeps bunching up in the most peculiar areas. So wienerdogs just have to learn to stand all the time and look pretty.
