Do I keep having to say "that S4 casting spoiler" for Doctor Who? Is anyone still being protected by that?

A couple of things have been all over the flist this morning:

1. Cinematic trailer for S4 of Doctor Who where we finally see Rose! WOO! Okay, it's a 0.5 second flash of her just standing there, obviously a shot from that Doctor-lite episode, but WOO!! (And looks like we've not yet seen the last of emo!Doctor, in spite of S4 being "lighter." Honestly, I never thought "lighter" meant that the Doctor would instantly revert to happy/carefree Doctor again, so this doesn't surprise me. I think it's quite possible to have lighter/funnier stories and keep character continuity.)
   
   
2. Phil Collinson said in an interview that Rose is a big part of the second half of S4. WOO!! Again!! Of course, those crafty PTB are...crafty. This doesn't necessarily mean that we'll get to see a lot of Rose, but maybe she and the alt!world figure into a larger story in the last part of the series. Personally...just bring Rose back already! GIMME!

If you've known me for a few years, you may remember how the Sam/Jack (SG-1) ficathon just about killed me. (And know that this is where my duck thing comes from.) Now I'm seriously considering doing a Doctor/Rose ficathon. There's a big list of prompts you can choose from instead of being assigned ones, so that might work a bit better for me. However, odds are probably good that there will still be writing melodrama along the way - there always is. It's too cathartic.

omg, I know! Rooooose looks *gorgeous*. I'm so happy! But honestly, though, RTD already gave an interview where he said S4 was going to have lighter moments, but would also be "darker than ever in some places", so I'm bracing myself for the angst. Couple that with DT's comment about the "emotional baggage" he'd be dealing with in S4, and I think this series is going to be hilarious and crushing all at the same time. =(

I want my Rose back, dangit! <3 I think it's awesome that the guy who watched the trailer in the theatres said the only part where the entire audience collectively went "oooohhhh" was when Rose flashed on the screen. I've always had a feeling that was the case. Fandom is a tiny percentage of people who actually watch and like the show, and the bitter crowd is a small percentage of fandom. They're just really loud. Unfortunately. *rolls eyes*

It's funny that whenever someone points out how he's been *extremely* consistent and really stuck to these large character arcs, I always want to say, "Noooo. That can't be right! I know you're showing me canon examples, but... I still don't trust him!! AAAAAHHH!!"

However, I'm still going to try and avoid speculation posts (even though I have speculations myself) since speculation seriously drives me to drink. OMG. TOO MUCH AWESOME.

My sister and I have just spent about twenty minutes analyzing why the Doctor seems to be crying/teary eyed at the end. Our only conclusion has been that it must have something to do with Rose, because as far as we can remember he only cries about seriously big things. Like the Master dying, and that one measly tear when he said goodbye to Rose the first time. And Rose showing up again would, in my opinion, qualify as a "seriously big thing" to him. (Doy.)

I must have much Doctor snogging Rose - and I mean it just that way. I want him to do something to show he *wants* Rose (if he doesn't give any other evidence of wanting to find a way to get her back from the other universe). No possession or other influence going on - a real, "because I WANT TO" snog (or 2 or 3 or...) and at least one hug that puts the one in TIP/TSP to shame.

Sigh. What I'm really starting to get afraid of is that this will mean I may actually have to suspend my boycott during S4. I will just have to keep my eye on the posts and see when it might be safe to leave my state of denial.
