TV
Well, the new TV season is here...
I realized last night that I'm only watching Friends out of habit anymore. I no longer care who Rachael ends up with. Really, really don't care. And didn't this show used to be funnier? Or is it my imagination? Chandler's still cute, and I think he even edged out Joey in the cuteness factor last night because for some reason Joey's less cute when he's with Rachael.
So NBC did its little 45 minute show thing for the comedies again...I guess the reasoning is that since the viewer's *so* engrossed in a sitcom, we magically don't notice it's 9 p.m. and switch over to CSI. Heh. So we didn't even start Will & Grace. Unfortunately for that 15 minutes of time to kill (yes, we must watch TV!), the guy in charge of the remote kept switching it over to that Jamie Kennedy show. Shoot me now. It doesn't even deserve a rant because by the grace of God I will never watch that show ever again.
Finally...
CSI - whee! Great to see a new episode and one that creeped me out! *shudder* I actually woke up around 3 a.m. slightly freaked and I'm sure the only reason was because it wasn't resolved. Damn them! To be continued?! ACK! And they didn't even show previews for next week! *switches gears* Honestly, this is a show that even if there are pairings, I really don't care. Seriously - they could get Nick together with Warrick next week and I really wouldn't care one way or the other. I don't watch the show for that. The point of this mini tirade about pairings? I was glad they didn't have any weirdness between Grissom & Sara. Maybe they'll just drop that. (*chants* Please don't turn into ER. Please don't turn into ER.)
Stopped watching ER a couple of years ago. Think it was the episode about S&M that sent me over the edge. It's when I realized the show never actually took place in the emergency room anymore. Instead they were giving us more and more plots (and more and more of the actual episode) about the people's personal lives...and also about people who never set foot in the ER. You know, I never really cared about Carter's mom or Luca and Sherry...Lucy...Tammy's destructive relationship (or whatever their names are). So hey! One less hour of TV watching!
Oh - Couplings debuted tonight. (Where was Scrubs??) Didn't watch it for two reasons. 1) It was on at the same time as CSI - chuh! 2) Quit taking British shows and Americanizing them, you bastards! I want to see the original! What, will the strange yet debonair accent confuse my dumb American mind? Dorks. Oh, there's a third point - Lindsay Price irks me...okay, maybe I'm thinking of another actress, but *somebody* irks me and it may as well be her.
And since I'm "bleh-ing" about TV, had a vague notion that the West Wing was on this week but didn't watch. Like ER, it's another show that I was really into when it first started. Just loved it. It kinda lost me this past season though. Started getting sanctimonious - bleh. Oh well. I'll probably still tune in if I'm not doing anything and want to watch TV.
Hey - is it a new Alias this Sunday? Wonder if there'll be any meow-boomage in the Alias communities? Heh. *sneaks over to watch*

It was. It started Tuesday, and it was excellent. Absolutely brilliant. It felt like only 30 minutes had passed. Can't wait for next week.
Hey - is it a new Alias this Sunday?
Yep, starts Sunday. Looking forward to seeing what they do.
And if you watch JAG, that's a new episode on tonight at 2100 Eastern on CBS.

Hmm. Might have to check it out next week. I had actually watched the season finale last spring, but since I really hadn't been watching much before that I was confused. You know, it's a show I *want* to love, but sometimes it really has me rolling my eyes.

Heh. Maybe Sydney will move on. (Think I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't really care for Vaughn.)

Nope. Never got into that show.

It's actually Wednesdays at 9, not Tuesday like I said. And next week's ep is a continuation of the season premiere, so if you haven't seen that, you may not get it.
You know, it's a show I *want* to love, but sometimes it really has me rolling my eyes.
Season 3 was not as good as seasons 1 and 2. Don't know why, but they did get a bit sanctimonius at times. Season 1 was more about the people that worked in the White House than the President. Season 2 brought the President into the picture much more, and I thought it lost a little when they did that. I also didn't like it when Sam Seaborn (Rob Lowe) left.
Maybe Sydney will move on.
One can always hope. I liked Vaughn, but never really bought the ship that was there.
Never got into that show.
It's had some major UST over the years, but I guess it's an acquired taste.

Yeah - the original cast was great! Well, the *show* was great back then - good writing, solid acting, etc.
Love CSI. Loved the "so, *how* do you know where the glitter is from" scene.
Ha! That was funny!
I don't watch it for shippiness.
Yeah. But hey - if someone else wants to, go for it!
I started cause I'll watch Marge Helgenberger do anything, and got sucked in.
Yeah - she's amazing! That whole cast is great.
Friend? Meh. Give me Survivor's pettiness any day. I keep saying I'll stop waching survivor, but I love watching different character architypes play out.
I caught that last week and it was a lot more interesting than some of the past years. I usually watch the Friends/Scrubs thing and swtich to Survivor during the breaks, but this year it might be the other way around - at least during Friends. Scrubs still rocks.

Oh, I know. Heck, I watch other shows for shippiness that most people don't see. (Mrs. Fletcher keeps givin' that sherrif "pie" ;)
I want to watch Scrubs. But Friends really pissed me off with an early episode where they discussed giving an alchoholic a drink because he wasn't fun sober. (Enter my honkin' big issues over that, and you have a show I avoid.) So, by the time Scrubs comes on, I'm half-way through a different show... I need Tivo...

Hee hee hee!! :D

Oh yeah. I kinda remember that ep. You know, I think that Scrubs is the best sitcom out there - worth checking out the next time Survivor's not on. :)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Murder, She Wrote will *never* be the same again! :D

I know! I was clutching a cushion, hoping that they'd show some previews so I could have *some* idea how things get resolved, but NO! No previews! Jerry Bruckheimer is an evil, evil man. *g* And couldn't agree with you more about the welcomed lack of any Grissom/Sara vibes. Phew! Although ... what's up with Grissom's beard? Feel like he should be out stomping in the woods somewhere rather than examining bodies in 120 degree heat.
I still watch ER. I don't know why. Oh, wait, yes, I do. I'm crazy. This we all know. :P
Hey - is it a new Alias this Sunday?
Yes. Same bat time, same bat channel.
Wonder if there'll be any meow-boomage in the Alias communities?/i>
HA! You evil thing. *hides behind MV to watch, too* :)

Very evil! It was a very "dammit!" moment when we realized there were no previews! :D
And couldn't agree with you more about the welcomed lack of any Grissom/Sara vibes. Phew!
Oh yeah. I think the two actors have great screen chemestry...and then they had to get weird on us last season.

Ha! He's gone Grizzly Adams!
HA! You evil thing. *hides behind MV to watch, too* :)
*snicker* You know, I have RL friends that are stressing about it. Of course they get teased. Heh.

And right there with you on the Friends thing. We ended up watching it while waiting for a friend to arrive, and I kept wondering why we bothered. And yes. SO used to be funnier.

Oh dang! It was good too!

Yeah. *sigh*

Oh no dear, trust me, you are *very much* not alone. It's just that most of us are very quiet 'cause we don't need the aggravation. ;)

I love CSI but always forget to watch it. :) I hope they never do pairings because I would definately stop watching...you are right, it would become ER.
And W&G - if they would take Grace out of the mix, I would watch more.
Coupling - Saw the British version the other night and laughed my ass off. This one, there was one joke that got me laughing but the rest didn't hold my interest.
I loved West Wing and I'm looking forward to Alias and that's about it.

Yeah. *Really* nothing there to hold your attention.

I don't mind the small amount of personal stuff they put in there. It's a nice balance right now. Heh. I probably feel this way about CSI that a lot of people feel about Stargate. ;)

The Karen and Jack characters totally make the show - I would watch it more if Will & Grace weren't in Will & Grace. ;)

See? Why do they need to change it? :P

I used to watch a WHOLE lot more TV than I do now. Of course, that's a good thing. I guess. :D

They didn't even change it! It was the same script as the first episode of the BBC version, except for a couple tiny vocabulary changes. I watched it only to see if it could possibly be as bad as I expected it to be. (It was.)
Why, why, why?
Oh, right -- money.

NBC is run by monkeys. But the first series of the BBC one is out on DVD now. You will find it. You will watch it. You will laugh your ass off.

I just don't get it. Well, I do get it. I just don't want to acknowledge it.

Ooo. Another DVD set to add to my list after I start getting some income.

You know, that is precisely our opinion as well. Especially my husband's. He finds Karen and Jack hysterically funny and can't stand Will & Grace.
And I *loved* the CSI premiere! The ending totally blew me away and I was like what??? How can you do that to me!!! Can't wait for this week.
I gave up Friends when I became a closet Survivor fan. I *adore* Survivor. All that back-stabbing and pettiness. Plus, constantly being grossed out by the things they have to do and eat.

They are *way* funnier. :D

Hee! I have the feeling I'll be watching more of Survivor this season.

Whee! Then I'd have someone to talk about the show with!
