  • Oh, it figures they wouldn't reveal the final one. :P But were Roslin and Baltar the only people left on the baseship when D'Anna said there were only 4 in the fleet? Can't remember when she said that. If so, the final one just got narrowed down to 2 people. If not...HELO! :D

  • I had a feeling something was up as they were landing on Earth when you didn't see any welcoming committees (aka figher jets, surface to air missiles, the Action 5 News helicopter...) So we've got post-apocalyptic Earth. (I'm assuming that was a Geiger counter type thing they were using on the soil.) Which means it might be unlivable. Well, that sucks donkey balls.

  • Adama - boy, he really went through it on finding out Tigh was a cylon. You can't blame him. 30 years of living with a lie.

  • I'm a bit confused about Roslin's line to Lee. So she's not taking back the Presidency? Although I could see why - she's still dying and they seem to have accomplished her driving force now. So she can let go. (Hmm. Didn't one of the prophesies way back when say that the "Dying Leader" would lead them to Earth but never see it? Looks like she's seeing it. Unless this isn't really Earth yet.)

  • So how long do we have to wait for the rest of this season that they split in two? That also sucks donkey balls.

I almost wonder- with the super-seekrit distress signal that only the new viper could hear, and the lack of supposed-humans left on the baseship, and D'anna's truly HORRIFIED look when she saw the destruction... I wonder if starbuck's visit kicked off WW3 and the distress signal her new viper was receiving was really a distress signal... from the final fifth cylon, left on Earth.

No, I'm pretty sure Roslin's still President. I think she was saying that since she was probably going to die soon, he's not off the hook because when she goes, he's the perfect person to take over. In short, I think she just made him Vice President. Bye Zarek! It's okay, you weren't using your civil liberties anyway! ;)

Adama - boy, he really went through it on finding out Tigh was a cylon. You can't blame him. 30 years of living with a lie.

But I still don't understand. Tigh fought in the war. The Cylons didn't have the technology to make humanoid cylons back then. That's why they disappeared for 40 years. How was Tigh around back then?

Did you see how Caprica Six was following Tigh around at the end? I guess she's over Baltar. =P

But were Roslin and Baltar the only people left on the baseship when D'Anna said there were only 4 in the fleet?

Nah, I don't think so - didn't she say it right at the very beginning? And back then, everyone was still very much aboard the basestar. And, oh. A thought - she said five were in the fleet last episode, didn't she? And there is only one person who was on the basestar at the beginning of this episode, but not when D'Anna said that during the last episode. And that one person is Bill Adama. (Which, err. DO NOT WANT.)

I love Tigh and Adama so much. Gah.

So how long do we have to wait for the rest of this season that they split in two?

Was this already the last episode of the run? I thought there would be a few more, and that it would end pretty much when DW does. I've heard rumours that the second half of the season may not be out until next year, but that was months ago, so I don't know. Either way, if that was it, at least it was a very nice breaking point, I think. I thought it was a really great episode, so at least I'll eagerly await its return (which I would have been more than 'meh' about a few episodes ago).

Yeah, that's pretty much how I read it, as well. :-)

But I still don't understand. Tigh fought in the war. The Cylons didn't have the technology to make humanoid cylons back then. That's why they disappeared for 40 years. How was Tigh around back then?

I've only seen this once, so bear with me, because I may mix thing up and/or talk out of my ass, but. Did you see those flashback scenes they cut from Razor, or minisodes, or whatever they were? Basically, they show a young Bill Adama who gets shot down onto a Clyon planet during a mission. He's in this laboratory-like building, and there are tanks of liquid with human-looking figures in them. They may have been the first hybrid experiments, or experiments for humanoid Cylons. If they were near completion 40 years ago, and Bill has known Saul for 30 years, that could work out, actually. (>Ou can find them on YouTube.)

[identity profile] violet-lane.livejournal.com 2008-06-14 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhh, I remember that! Thanks for pointing it out. :) Makes sense. Sad, but at least it makes sense. Poor Tigh. Had his eye ripped out by own people.

Another quick question: does this mean that all the Ones, Simon's (I think he's Seven?), and Jonathan's (Four's?) are wiped out. If so, that sucks because we hardly knew the Jonathan's and Simon's! =(

[identity profile] javabreeze.livejournal.com 2008-06-14 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
ooh... that's an interesting theory.

[identity profile] javabreeze.livejournal.com 2008-06-14 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Supposedly, the new "season" or the rest of the episodes won't start until 2009.

And I kinda of figured that something was going to happen to Earth since they arrived so quickly in this episode.

[identity profile] pluckyyounggirl.livejournal.com 2008-06-14 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
You're quite welcome! :-) My friend K. thinks that D'Anna saw Tigh when she had her vision of the Five and told one of them "It's you. I'm so sorry", but... I don't know, I'm not quite sold on that. And the thing I love so much about Tigh that really, it's not about "his people"; or if it is, his people are his friends on Galactica. I love that he chose to stay the man he wants to be. Basically, I just love Tigh. Lots.

Another quick question: does this mean that all the Ones, Simon's (I think he's Seven?), and Jonathan's (Four's?) are wiped out. If so, that sucks because we hardly knew the Jonathan's and Simon's! =(

I've actually not thought about that at all. And I haven't been paying attention to plot continuity this season at all - K. kept having to tell me what had happened the episode before... I've just been wrapped up in DW, and BSG didn't pull me in a lot this season until the last episode. Maybe check the Battlestar Wiki? Sorry I can't be more helpful. :-(

Yes. They were going to do it anyway (and the furor last year about it was fun), and the writer's strike gave them the excuse to do that. So, sometime in 2009 we get the back half of S4. *shrug* Hopefully, people will remember WTH happened between now and then.

Also, re your icon: Pickles are GOOD. Like bananas. *nods* (Please note that I'm the person who has enjoyed eating pickles straight from the jar since I was a child. ;-))

[identity profile] chloris67.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
No, there were a fair number of colonists on the basestar at that point. But even if there weren't, it's none of them either. If she had a final cylon aboard the basestar, she wouldn't have been shy about going up to them. So the final cylon isn't anyone currently in the fleet, which makes them a new character or someone we think is dead.

As soon as they saw Earth and everyone was celebrating, I thought something was up. The only reason to find Earth now is if something is wrong with Earth (assuming this is Earth).

The splitting of this season in two so sucks donkey balls...I've been looking for a way to express my feelings on it and that fits perfectly.

Without reading any of the other comments, there were a lot of people still on the base ship with Deanna said that about there only being 4 in the fleet.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, that would be really interesting! Didn't the prophesy say Starbuck would lead people to their doom or something?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)

BWAH!!

Did you see how Caprica Six was following Tigh around at the end? I guess she's over Baltar. =P

I did notice that, and I thought the same thing. :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
And that one person is Bill Adama.

OOOH!! That would be INTERESTING. :D

Was this already the last episode of the run?

I think so? And we won't get anything more until next year? *shakes fist at Sci Fi*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you knew something would be up. It just couldn't be that simple.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
So the final cylon isn't anyone currently in the fleet, which makes them a new character or someone we think is dead.

Hmmmmm. I'm really really curious about this.

As soon as they saw Earth and everyone was celebrating, I thought something was up. The only reason to find Earth now is if something is wrong with Earth (assuming this is Earth).

I thought maybe they'd be seeing a few surface-to-air missiles soon. :D

Heh heh.

Without reading any of the other comments, there were a lot of people still on the base ship with Deanna said that about there only being 4 in the fleet.

Ah, okay.

[identity profile] fakymcfakerson.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Their deaths- which makes me wonder, to their specific deaths (like, immediate and fire-y) or to the death of humanity (old age and bad reproduction because of, say, radiation sickness?).

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmmmmm.

Wow, that'd be a bleak turn to have the series wind up with everyone basically doomed.

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
I just watched and thought it was absolutely fabulous. I was actually going to e-mail you about it. I am actually someone who never stopped enjoying BSG, even in S3 but I think they really refocused in S4 and this mid-season finale was just what I want from BSG.

30 years of living with a lie.

Well, not really because Tigh didn't know about it until the nebula and even after he found out, he never betrayed Adama or the Fleet.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
True, but to find out now - I can see why it destroyed him.

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah those two have a friendship that surpassed all other relationships in their lives. Poor Adama and Tigh. :(

1. I refuse to believe that the final cylon is Helo. In fact, I'm refusing to believe it's anyone but Dee. I don;t care what D'Anna said!

2. I'm HOPING that since they were all standing on the planet, that it will at least be livable, maybe with just some fading background radiation.

3. Adama's freakout over Tigh was so wonderfully played. I really thought the old man was going to off himself.

4. I think she took back the presidency, but is just keeping Lee at hand for when she dies.

5. January 2009? I think? Whatever it is, it's too long. I don't know why they aren't calling it Season 5 instead.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Heh heh.

2. The ruins do seem a bit old, don't they? It's not like anything's smoking.

3. *nods*

4. Okay. I wasn't really clear on that.

5. Yeah, no kidding. Just admit to a 13 episode season and be done with it!
