AHHHH!!! I can't stop clicking on speculation for DW! Okay, it was only 2 posts, but that's bad enough! I hate this time of the year in DW scheduling. Everyone goes nuts.

Personal experience from the last 2 finales? Only about 5% of speculation ever hits it on the nose, and that 5% is never the big stuff. I can't think of one instance of someone predicting JesusTinkerbellDoctor. I'm just sayin'.

I just reeeeally need to not look at speculation. Some people love to do it, but I find it exhausting. And pretty well loathe it. However, there is one totally and completely true spoiler I heard someone's brother say they saw on a message board, posted by someone who is a friend of someone who works in the BBC mail room.

Donna is, and always has been, a lemon meringue pie in disguise. There, I've said it. And left it uncut for the world to see.

I'm sorry for making a speculation post! I PROMISE IT PROBABLY WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. I just had to unleash all my worries upon the world. I think it's out of my system now.

Donna is, and always has been, a lemon meringue pie in disguise.

And she's been left in the sun too long, which means she's now unsafe to eat. This is why there will be tears.

Michelle, do we need to perform an intervention?

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
And I have no idea what you mean about "going nuts." I AM PERFECTLY SANE. STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT.

[identity profile] makesometime.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Deeeeemon! How dare you spoil us so heartlessly!

[identity profile] shinyopals.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Forgive me, Michelle, for I have sinned. I've actually *made* a speculation post. And God knows I hate the damn things because all they do is make me panic.

I refuse to believe RTD will lay off the crack for long enough to do anything us mere mortals could dream of thinking up! XD

Although the lemon meringue pie? Sounds like the best recipe for a finale ever…

Spoilers! Outside a cut! *HATES YOU LOTS AND LOTS*

Ahem. I'm still at the ep before Poison Sky. *searches* Which was apparently called The Sontaran Stratagem. No, I have no idea what possessed me to stop there. Other than the fact that at the time I watched it, that was me up to date. And I had just watched, pretty much the whole of S2 Torchwood, and the start of S4 DW in one go. I may have overdosed...

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
And lo, there shall be much a-pulling of things out of the arse of RTD...

The BBC didn't exactly help matters by posting publicity stills for 4x13 on the official site early as part of the 4x12 wallpapers... nothing I didn't already know, but jumpin' jehosephat you'd think they'd be at least a little careful about these things.

PIE!!! CANON! PIE CANNON! The Doctor will load Donna up into a circus cannon and launch her at Davros, thus saving the universe!

Like it's more cracky than Tinkerbell!Jesus!Ten.

This fandom doesn't learn, does it? Didn't the D/R section of the fandom do this for S2 and actually get folks pissed off at each other with the "Rose is going to leave the Doctor" crap? And didn't they start up again this year?

Hasn't this fandom learned yet that you're not going to predict a RTD finale?

[identity profile] unfolded73.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I am with you, reading speculation makes me mental and depressed. I know that, and last night I did it anyway, and I got quite depressed. Ugh. Trying to think of ideas for more fluff to write, not having much luck.

Donna is, and always has been, a lemon meringue pie in disguise.

I KNEW IT.

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Personally I'd have thought Donna was more the strawberry-rhubarb type, but that's just me. ;P

[identity profile] maypanic.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
So far I'm still avoiding spoilers and spec. Which is making it a heckuva lot faster to get through my flist, actually. Next week I'll go back to see which ones were better than the actual show. (And possibly point and laugh at a few. Strictly to myself, of course. Because goodness knows I'll probably need a reason to laugh by then.)

Lemon meringue pie? Pfft. That's ridiculous.

She's totally a deep dark rich chocolate cake.

[identity profile] ivydoor.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
A-HA! I KNEW SHE WAS A PART OF THE VAST PIE ARC. CAKE WILL RUE THE DAY IT TRIED TO TAKE OVER THE UNIVERSE.

Or did I just dream that? Perhaps I should lay off the vicodin y/y?

[identity profile] frenchroast.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, no, I've got it. Donna IS the Doctor, but from a parallel world where the Doctor is ginger, and female. The Doctor Rose is in love with? A key lime pie (very tangy!), baked by an unknown entity called the Baker, who ships the Master/Harriet Jones (Prime Minister OTP!) and spends his free time playing cricket with Dalek Khan.

[identity profile] suzvoy.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, that means Donna's really tasty.

[identity profile] chloris67.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Just keep telling yourself it's only a few more days! I haven't read much spec myself, but I found that posting some helped deal with my post episode freakout.

I actually feeling rather zen about the finale right now. David Tennant is NOT leaving (no spoilers so don't tell me he is). Rose HASN"T moved on and decided that the Doctor was a youthful experimentation. And now I that know Donna is PIE I know what happens to her - she gets unmasked and then everyone gets hungry after defeating the Daleks.

I can't think of one instance of someone predicting JesusTinkerbellDoctor

And can you imagine what the initial reaction would have been to that kind of prediction? Or that whole Face of Boe thing that I don't like to thing about because it hurts my brain? We would have all laughed it off as being completely ludicrous. Oh, Rusty...you big crack-whore.

[identity profile] kynaii.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm shocked! I thought for sure she would be Banana-Creme!

:O

Especially when a lot of what I've heard is pretty damn ridiculous. Not all of it (most of the folks on my flist have speculated well), but I've seen some pretty cracky stuff ... of course, if someone had told me about Tinkerbell!Doc before it happened, I wouldn't have believed them. So maybe "ridiculous" isn't a good reason to toss a speculation or rumor out. Whoops.

See my icon. Ignore the speculation. *snort* I'm subbed to the main DW mailing list? But for the most part I just have it set to send important moderator announcements, which is mostly DW news pulled from various souces. But in a fit of insanity Friday night I decided to turn on individual comments. *facepalm* I turned that off yesterday, not only because I was getting overwhelmed by email, but also because there were twelve million completely insane specs/rumors/paranoid delusions/conspiracy theories. Also one guy who was really annoying and thinks S4 is boring/rubbish, mostly because he really (and I know this sounds crazy but bear with me) hates Donna. And likes to interject that fact randomly into random conversations. So I bailed.

Donna is, and always has been, a lemon meringue pie in disguise.

*sighs heavily* My muses called it already.

Help! I can't stop! I'm not even reading any spec!

[identity profile] poohmusings.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I keep reading your second sentence as "I can't stop licking on speculation for DW!" Arrgh. What's wrong with my brain? Although, hilariously, the idea of you licking speculation barely made me pause. Heh.

OH NOES! You ruined it for me! D:

Michelle! YOU SPOILED ME!!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm ruined for the finale. Hmmmf.
