(no subject)

One good thing about having to bail on the trip is that the airline is giving me full credit to use anytime for a year. Hooray for Alaska Airlines!

Feeling sorta better today. Got an air purifier, so I'm hoping that will help. I'm just tired right now though. If I don't see dramatic improvement in the next couple of days, I'm going to a different doctor.

Hope everyone can scoot out of the way of the hurricane. I've been watching the news, and things seem better as far as prep this time around, although they could hardly be worse.

I really wonder about New Orleans, though. Is this a city we're going to be able to save if there will be storms like this every few years? I'm not trying to make any judgments about it, just...wondering what can be done.

I am hoping this storm is all huff and puff and passes over without causing major damage. I don't think NO can take it again. Not to mention Mississippi and all the other states in its path. So many other places were devastated by Katrina, they just didn't get as much attention as NO.

I hope you improve soon babe.

I'm hoping it'll die down as well. That area certainly doesn't need this again.

And thanks. :)

*hugs* I'm sorry you couldn't go on your trip (I assume you're taking vacation anyway?), but I am glad you're feeling better.

I wonder about NoLa, too. I'd never move there, personally, but at least half of that is I think I'd find it too hot'n'humid most of the year.

I am taking vacation anyway. I'm hoping I'll feel good enough to actually do something this week.

I worry because even after 3 years, the place still hadn't really recovered. And now what?

New Orleans is very very important as the port city for the Mississippi. It was one of the larger ports in the world before Katrina. There's still a lot of river traffic, shipping goods and the like. The worse thing about the rebuilding of NO is that there has been little housing built for those who work the docks and the like. Those folks don't make tons of money, so building housing that they can't afford does the city and really the country as a whole no good.

Yeah, it's just a major screwup, and it's sad.

That sucks you weren't able to go on the trip. What will the fam do without Rosemary & Thyme to watch? Err, I mean, I'm sure the fam will miss you! ;)

But coolness about the the plane ticket. Where should we go? Heee.

Heh heh heh.
