A little political annoyance. You know, I signed up to get official Obama emails a week or two ago, because I thought it would be neat to get an update if he happened to be in the area so I could try and go listen to him. And it'd be cool to hear about issues and stuff. But instead I've only gotten hit up for campaign contributions about every other day.

Yeah, they do that. What I did was search their groups to find a local one. I signed up to get the emails from there, and that's been pretty productive. I've been getting good, informative emails from the group leader and updates about volunteering and appearances. Through that I found out the new headquarters was opening up here in town this Sunday so I'm going over to help out.

That might be a better option.

The state and local primary. Which I just got back from voting in like a good little citizen.

I got something similar way back while he was in the primaries, etc. Doesn’t make a lick of sense for me to get the contribution e-mails – I’m British and the rules say I can’t give him money even if I wanted to!

I wish they had different types of emails you could sign up for.

Yup. Exact same thing happened to me. Wanted to be informed of mahor speeches/developments, and first email I open has, like, five "DONATE NOW" buttons.

Politics. *sighs*

Yeah, it's really annoying. And the message it sends to only get hit with this kind of stuff - they just want your money.
