  1. I had a revelation while watching a snip of The Santa Clause 3. The thought of jolly old white-haired Tim Allen Santa Claus having a pregnant wife evokes a "OH DEAR GOD NO NO NO. I'D LIKE TO SPORK MY EYES OUT NOW" reaction in me. I suddenly realized it might be a similar thing when people think of the Doctor and sex. *pets oldschoolers*

  2. These things work really really well. I wish I'd bought two since they only have 10 cubes per tray. I...I could star mass-producing these things! And always have a bucket of Mickey cubes on hand! Ooooooh.

  3. Charlie Brown Christmas is on in 10 minutes. *readies the hot chocolate*

BWAH!

You know, I think if I had grown up watching some of the Old School Doctors, I'd probably feel something similar. I mean, could you imagine being all: "Time for Six to GET IT ON."?

[identity profile] janetmaca.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
1. Yeah, I imagine the old school Doctors (I'm thinking of 1 and 3, specifically) cause the same reaction. I mean ick.

2. Oh cute!

3. Hee! I watched that too. Nothing quite like avoiding going outside in 5°F weather by watching a Christmas cartoon. *grins* Also? I love Fahrenheit, it makes it sound warmer, always a plus. :D

1. Where did you think the elves came from? Magic? No way. They are totally child labor.

2. I love the Mickey cube, although I was expecting to see Noel Clark for half a second.

3. NO! I MISSED IT?! Grrr.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
1. Maybe that's why I believe the Doctor shouldn't have sex. But given the opportunity, it would be a great way to meet girls.

2. I do the same thing with my pear-cube tray.

3. I missed it...

*EYES YOU*

I DID NOT NEED TO READ THAT RIGHT BEFORE LUNCH.

[identity profile] shinyopals.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Well DT has a bit of a panic every time someone implies that the Doctor might know where babies come from, or at least, I'm sure he's said "no shagging in the TARDIS!" on a couple of separate occasions. And he still copes!

It's about freaking time, MerV.

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You just KNOW that Ten "accidentally" crashed the TARDIS into the nearest moon when Rose asked if he had pictures of his previous incarnations.

I'm trying to think of a comparison from my childhood, and really the only thing I can think of is Santa Claus. I didn't really have a Doctor-type fictional figure while growing up. But even Santa Claus had Mrs. Claus. However, they were both old and so obviously all they'd ever do was sit around and drink hot cocoa. That's IT. :D

1. *snickers* Although One did get accidentally engaged once. And then he was an asshole to the woman. *kicks him*

2. *luffs*

3. 5 degrees??? BRRRRRRRRRR. It's 42 here right now and I thought that was cold.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Bwahahahahaha!

2. I could dig DW ice cubes. :D

3. *pats*

1. Sex would be a great way to meet girls? Or delivering presents? :D

2. Oooooh.

3. Aw, shame.

D'Oh!

I meant traveling around in the Tardis would be a great way to meet girls. :P

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
That cracks me up quite a bit. :D

Watching old episodes now as opposed to as a kid, I don't necessarily see the Doctor as this person who must never never never never have sex! ICK! But instead I see him as...someone who would make an incredibly bad boyfriend/lover/spouse. Really really really bad. Oh there's the flash and sparkle of time travel, and on the surface he's this very exciting person, but go just a little deeper...

I'm still imagining some moron-ity in the altverse. Not that he doesn't love Rose, but he truly is bad at intimate relationships. Although that bit of Donna might help him.

*pets you*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhhhhhhhhh! :D

[identity profile] chloris67.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Yep. Now you get it! I still can't think of any oldschool Doctors and sex in the same sentence. *shudder* Luckily, there's enough of a disconnect to new Who that I don't have any trouble reading Nine or Ten porn. *whew*

2. I know that I watch too much Who when I was wondering why you got Mickey Smith ice cubes. Heh. Then I hit the cut and it all made sense.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Heh heh heh. Dodged a bullet on that one! :D

2. I was wondering how many people would think Mickey Smith when I put a Mickey cut under a DW-related item. :D

[identity profile] janetmaca.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Nrgh. Stupid One.

2. Hee!

3. I couldn't agree more. I think I was born in the wrong country. Stupid ancestors. `

[identity profile] shinyopals.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
There's probably a fair amount he'd just *not* understand. Random stuff like couples occasionally spending some time apart - because his experience is only really living in the TARDIS where he's *always* with whoever's he's travelling with except in cases of kidnap. And I'm really not seeing typical "dating".

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Doctor: Why are you dressed up to go out to dinner?

Rose: Because it's special.

Doctor: ... More special than lunch?

Rose: Yes.

Doctor: And more special than breakfast or last night's dinner?

Rose: Yes. Because this will be a date.

Doctor: I love dates! Yum yum yum!

Rose: *facepalm*

[identity profile] shinyopals.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
BWAH! :D

Doctor: Does this mean you want me to wear the Chucks without the alien intestine stain?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
*snorts*

You know, I can see much ear-pinching by Jackie in his future when it comes to Tyler functions.

Doctor: Ow ow ow OW OW OW!!! GAH! ALL RIGHT! I'LL PUT ON A TUX!

Jackie: AND promise not to insult any of the guests?

Doctor: THAT'S NOT PART OF THE DEAL!
