I can guess from the racket being made outside that the Chargers won. Yeesh. You'd think that it was the Super Bowl or something. *shakes fist* *is 80 years old*

I have an admission: I've sort of become addicted to House. It happened over Christmas when USA (or one of those channels) was running a 128 hour marathon, and I had to spend a couple of nights in a hotel room. Here's the thing though - the personal aspect to it? You can chuck that all out the window. I just like watching the cases. People hooking up with other people: YAWN.

I did try to watch this show when it first started, but they went heavy with the relationship between House and that one woman - and I found the whole thing weird and eye-rolling - so I quit the show. But it seems to be slightly easier to do the whole *IGNORES* thing with House and this other woman. Someday I will learn names, I'm sure.

ETA: OH! And it amuses me to no end that in about 95% of the episodes, the reason the person is sick is because of SEX! :D

HAHAHAHA Welcome to the Dark Side!

And don't worry, I think the personal stuff will get you. My dad started watching for the same reason as you, but now he's all, "wait, who's sleeping with who? And did he really just-- oh, oh I guess he did."

Tis fun.

And yes! Sexsomnia!

*stubbornly resists the personal stuff*

Sexsomnia!

I will never get past the one with Dawnie Summers having a tick in her private area. And them looking for it in an elevator. AHHHHHHHHH! *is traumatized*

My recent addiction is Cold Case. I have no idea why, but I suddenly just love watching it. That and Bones. I had no desire to watch either one and suddenly I am marathoning them. It is so weird.

See? SEX IS EVIL!! :D

I've heard of that show, but haven't seen it.

Yeah, they won in one hell of a come-from-behind victory. DH was an absolute wreck through the game.

*snickers* I would hear occasional outbursts all afternoon, but the partying started at the end.

I completely agree, and happens to me for 89% of the shows I like. Which are mostly procedural dramas (Psych, House, Life, Law & Order, and such). It's because the personal stuff gets in the way of the mystery. Enough with the angst, GIVE ME MORE CLUES!

Also, it just seems cruel to ship House with anyone. None of the characters deserve that.

One of the recappers on TWoP once mentioned that House's catchphrase should just become "everybody cheats".

EDIT: And it might show how into sports I am that I didn't even notice your first sentance. *cough*

Excellent point. I am all into House and Cuddy right now because I love their chemistry, but I agree that none of the characters deserve to be with House. Yet he has garnered great loyalty from so many of them. There are many complex relationships on House and I enjoy those dynamics as well as the medical mysteries.

If I shipped anybody on the show, it'd be House/Cuddy. But I don't feel the need to write or read fic about them, and I don't get all tense and nervous when they date/hit on other people. Except for Cameron. Because that one was overdramatic.

Oh this is totally a new development for me. I have watched House since then beginning and never had a ship preference. I just always enjoyed their combative yet strong relationship. The ship bug just hit me this year, but it's not what the whole show is about to me and I am not all aghast if there are other people in the mix.

*nods*

You know, thinking about it, I believe I'm more inclined to ships in the sci-fi genre. If it's a regular drama, I'm really not interested. Hmmm.

It really should. Most the shows I find myself saying, "Sex. Sex. It's sex. You people should know this by now." And most the time I'm right. :D

I got addicted to House over Christmas, too!

I also have no interest in House hooking up with the women of the show. But that's because I think the only real relationship he can have is with Wilson!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2009-01-05 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Wilson's the...guy? House's friend? They're sweet together.

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I've always liked House and never had a preference as I liked all the characters in one way or another, but I have always enjoyed the chemistry between House and Cuddy and she is to me her own character with or without a romantic involvement with House. I also love House's friendship with Wilson (not into the slashy aspect. I don't get why there can never be strong friendships on a show without fandom making it all slash.) and his dynamic with the original team. And the cases are fascinating. I don't think I would be into the show if there was no characterization and connections beyond the medical drama though.

See for me I probably would still be into the show. Well, as long as House was still House. Honestly, I really don't care about any of the other characters. Like, at all. I don't know why! :D

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2009-01-05 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
That's understandable. I think it is probably because all of them orbit around House. Cuddy to me especially in this season has a story outside of House, but most of them don't. I am just very much a character based kind of fan.
