I'm going to have a time-out to feel sorry for myself. I started taking half dose of medication this week, and it caught up with me on Thursday. That good old feeling like I was going to jump out of my skin. Then yesterday I did something to my back and have been in pain ever since. I was supposed to go to dinner with a friend tonight. That's not happening. I was supposed to clean/get ready for Thanksgiving this weekend. That's not happened so far. Ow.

And then with the DW CiN special I've sort of gone from indifferent to the specials to sort of nauseated. The Doctor causing someone to commit suicide? Joking about fucking Queen Elizabeth? I'm sorry, but this isn't the person - this isn't the show - I fell for back in 2005.

Yeah, I get why the Doctor's at this point - meta meta blah blah blah - it's just leaving a very bad taste in my mouth at the moment. Even more so after I had a day to think about it.

In short, not even the daily otter cheered me up today.

I had the same reaction as you; I didn't find it particularly funny, either. I'm becoming rather disenchanted with Doctor Who. It saddens me because I want to care about Ten's regeneration but right now I'm finding it hard. I just don't like him anymore.

I am sick, so have decided that I don't actually understand what is up with Ten. It makes my life better. Well, that and I am rewatching early season 2 lately. Crazy!Ten?! What? Do you mean hypnotized!Ten perhaps? Or rude!Ten? Or Dork!Ten?

OMG the same thing was with me tonight on my drive home from work. i was thinking about DW cuz i'd had such a crap day and it hit me! the whole bit about elizabeth and she was "the virgin queen" so he basicaly blew that off and slept with the queen and was all blase about her not having that nickname anymore, and did he marry her too? and naming some planet which would mess stuff up too...i'm just really annoyed with the whole thing. and no this isn't the same show at all

I'm hoping that with RTD's crackiness and DT's over-the-top darkness the show will surface back to what it was even before the reboot this century. So I'm going to give it a chance and see what Moffett & Smith are capable of.
