That.. actually appeals to me, too. Though I'm a little confused at where her doctor!boyfriend went (I had it in my head they were engaged), I liked the tiny glimpse we got of Martha/Mickey in EoT2.

heh, yeah, I was so used to the idea of Martha being married to Tom, she was engaged with him, wasn't she? I'm not sure I'd puck Mickey over one hot Tom Milligan XDD

*sigh* Watched the last 15 minutes of the ep (couldn't resist, plan to watch the rest after I get some sleep because it's already almost 4 am) and now I'm even more disappointed about the scene with Rose, we couldn't even see his face clearly and there wasn't a single shot of them together, BOOO, RTD, BOOO.

Damn you, RTD, for showing me spinoffs I will never get!

I've no idea where Tom went either. Did she break off the engagement? Did she get divorced?

She was engaged to him! At least, everyone assumed it was Tom although I don't think she mentioned his name. Mickey was still in the altverse though.

And it would have been nice to see more, although I can see why they didn't.

Mickey was hot in that small clip. But yeah, totally confused as to how Martha/Mickey came out of Martha/Tom or whatever. The honeymoon she was on in CoE, that must have been with Mickey? Jack must have gotten a kick out of that relationship ;)

I'm sure Jack had many MANY suggestions on how he could "help" their relationship. XD

I would appreciate even just a close-up of Ten's face looking at Rose but they didn't do even that, it's just, not enough after 1,5 years of waiting for some good closure *Hmpf*

I felt exactly the same way. Poor Tom, but it's still pretty cool.

They looked awesome together!

My personal theory (which I may try to write, because writing more is one of my resolutions!) is that Martha was enamoured with Tom because of the year that never was. And while there were enough similarities to bring them together, the very important "saving the world and fighting for your life" component wasn't one of them. So possibly the danger and odd hours of working for UNIT/Torchwood broke their relationship. And Martha and Mickey worked together for Jack's Torchwood and both realized the other was pretty damn awesome. And then Martha was like, "You wanna go save the world a ton?" And Mickey was like, "Hell yes." And they lived happily ever after, with really big guns.

Unless there was dialog about this Tom working for UNIT, in which case I have no idea.

(And I haven't actually seen either part of End of Time, so I can't be held accountable for anything the above paragraph may contradict. *nods*)

And I don't remember specifically anything about Tom working for UNIT, but Martha did say (on Torchwood) that he saved her life. Of course she could have been talking about the Year That Never Was.

YES, definitely, it amused me that Ten put off his coat before starting to regenerate, how neat XD

I CANNOT BELIEVE the Martha/Mickey spoiler was real LIRL LIRL.

But I was too busy going OMG! OMG IT'S MARTHA! OMG FREEMA IS IN THIS!... OMG! OMG IT'S MICKEY! to be that bothered. I saw someone on Opal's flist suggest it's several years in the future from when we last saw them, and I like that idea best -- that things with Tom sort of fell through for various reasons.

I also love that Martha and Mickey both went "LOL, fuck Torchwood" and freelance it up. I bet they have tea parties with Sarah Jane and her unreasonably competent teenagers.

She does say "that Tom Milligan" in the Sontaran eps. And the says he was in Africa.

I'm sure Mickey had to remind him that, no, his duty as best man did not include following them on their honeymoon and giving specific, step by step demonstrations.

I like to think that Mickey and Martha are running Torchwood while Jack is away and Gwen is on maternity leave.

I KNOW! I'm pretty sure my mouth dropped when I saw them. XD

And it could easily be years in the future, which would fit better with the Tom thing beyond "RTD HANDWAVE."

That was like the one seriously surprising moment of the episode for me. I mean the other stuff was chilling and sad, but none of it was really "OMGHOLYCRAPWTFBBQ I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING" (like Rose showing up in PiC, that was one of those moments).

So that was my first thought. My second thought was, "Ahahaha, remember when there was that really cheesy tabloid article saying how Martha and Mickey were getting married and everyone went 'LOL, silly tabloid you are vastly wrong'?!?!?! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"
