One more plug...

If you've read, want to read, or are reading Strong Poison, you really should check out [livejournal.com profile] shinyopals' review of the first 4 chapters.

After their interview, Peter leaves and skips through the road like a five year old because Harriet DIDN’T SAY NO and SAID HI TO HIM. And then he goes and doodles “Lord and Lady Peter Wimsey” and “Harriet Wimsey” all over his notebook in heart shapes.

SO ENDS CHAPTER FOUR.

MWAH.

*LICKS*

THAT IS TOTALLY WHAT HAPPENED AND YOU KNOW IT.

Not that far off!! Not when he's already decided he's going to marry her, and by the end of the book announces it to his family. XD

(Of course if Harriet had heard him, it would have been "WTFH?!!")

XD That scene sort of cracks me up because it's exactly the sort of thing I'd do to piss off my family, feelings of potential partners be damned! ;-)

I can picture the Dowager cackling about it and Helen flipping her shit. And meanwhile Peter would be off calling Harriet, wondering what she was doing and trying to decide if her "hello" was encouraging in any way.

XD The Dowager knows how best to deal with Peter.

And OOH, DID I MENTION? Frances has now read all of Strong Poison and Gaudy Night, and she took my copy of Busman's Honeymoon back to Canada with her for reading. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE DONE WELL.

YOU HAVE DONE WELL! :D

YOU ARE BOTH EVIL. I DON'T BELIEVE IN THIS "READING" NONSENSE.

....how can I find the BBC miniseries?

OR YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE MORE SKILL THAN ME.

OOH THANKS.

Man I really need to get some work done, humph.

If you have Netflix, you can stream it.

Oh, by the way, I watched Harriet Walter in a recent Poirot. Not wrong at all to imagine her as an older Harriet Vane-Wimsey, is it? :D

[identity profile] soniag.livejournal.com 2010-07-06 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Harriet Walter is so awesome. She still gets a great deal of work!

I recently saw Edward Petherbridge on an episode of MIDSOMER MURDER, and he was silver-haired with a beard, but still making ridiculous declarations of love. I really wanted to smush him.

I went to Balliol College yesterday and it felt like a religious pilgrimage.

I saw a recent vidclip of him too, and he really is adorable. :D

And Balliol! I'd feel like that too!
