It's insanity today! Work is insane and my city is insane. Today's the first day of the Del Mar races, so the freeway is jammed with people wearing big hats. Also ComicCon is in town, and apparently the transit authority has added directional signs in Klingon.

And since it feels like you can't say the word "insanity" without talking about Harry Potter, I had a random thought after reading the first few chapters of The Goblet of Fire: I think I'd like Hermione and Ginny to become BFFs. Hermione could use some girlfriends.

Last year my sister's boyfriend went to the Doctor Who panel and I was like "I HATE YOU AND I HOPE I NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN."

I've just never had the desire to go to a con, even though the biggie is just down the way. :D

I'd love Ginny and Hermione to be BFF's. There are some real frustrating things with having the whole series done in the POV of a pre/teenage dude.

I did like her in the movies already. She's weirdly awesome. :D

Luna Lovegood is one of the few characters who I think translated from book to screen with almost 100% accuracy. It probably helped that the actress, Evanna Lynch, was a huge Harry Potter fan before she got cast. She made her own radish earrings and everything.

I think they already are. It’s in Goblet of Fire that Hermione tells Ginny something she doesn’t tell anyone else (in fact, she flat out refuses to tell Harry or Ron). We just don’t get to see a lot of their friendship because (say it with me) the books are from Harry’s point of view.
