So is this the last episode of the series? This always seems to happen to me every year. "Is that it? Or is there more?" :D

Anyway, Lucas went out in a blaze of RAGING MANPAIN. The only thing wrong with manpain (other than the obvious) is that invariably a woman gets killed. You know, to validate the RAGING MANPAIN. No exception here, and was a waste of a perfectly good woman. On the other hand, Lucas had suddenly turned evil, so no one really cared much that he jumped off a roof. (Well, I guess the other characters cared. And I suppose his fans. So "no one" means...me. :D)

I'm really not surprised he's gone. I had a feeling he was on his way out. You know a character isn't long for this world when they give him/her a character arc. Just a little tip-off. ;)

I wonder if Harry will be bowing out soon and/or the show will be ending. I predict that if Harry isn't killed, he'll retire and marry Ruth. Then they'll both start crocheting ducks or something.

Speaking of which, I really thought Ruth might die in this episode. Well done, show, for keeping it in everyone's minds that no character is ever safe.

Aww, Lucas was played by Richard Armitage right? I laways have trouble keeping score... at any rate he really is pretty, so hopefully RA will be on something else in the near future. :D

Yep! That's him. And actually he's going to be in that Hobbit movie, so I'm guessing that'll be what ties him up in the near future.

Ahh, but that's gonna take ages... eh, at least I enjoyed The Hobbit more than The Lord of the Rings. :D

Of course I think he's supposed to be a dwarf, so he may be in heavy makeup the whole time. BAH.

lol, that would be my luck.

At least they wouldn't change his voice. Hopefully? *loves his voice*

Mmm, true. *makes plans to watch North and South in the very near future*

To be fair, Lucas was a raging ball of MANPAIN pretty much from the word go. Which actually makes it sort of pointless that they had to kill Maya because I don't think the man cracked a smile the entire 2(?) series he was on. Richard Armitage sure can smoulder, though. (Smouldering: another event in the Manpain Decathalon.)

Anyway, yes, that was the last of this series, and Wiki tells me that series 10 is in the offing. I have a feeling that Harry will be bowing out at the beginning of series 10. Ruth for Head of Section D: The campaign starts here!

SO TRUE.

Excellent! Pretty crying, ugly crying and smouldering. I think RA would win the smouldering event. Ten can't really smoulder. :D

Ruth would be awesome! Although I'm bummed Ros isn't around. Ros would be awesomer!

I think they have a 3 year limit for male stars who aren't Harry. I'm not positive, but I think it went Tom for series 1 - 3, then Adam for 4 - 6, and then Lucas for 7 to 9. I thought this might be his last year, but when they announced that RA was going to do the Hobbit I figured that was the end of Lucas. I still feel like they could've done more with him though... and the timeline always confused me a bit - he was married for a while before he went off to Russian prison times, but they played it like Maya was the only woman he'd ever loved. I don't know... selective memory by the writers or something.

Anyway, if Harry is going to be bowing out, then I am totally behind Ruth taking over. And did they bring in the new guy (Alec?) as a new um... field op leader person? (What are they called, are they the section chief? And is Harry the section leader? So confused...) Cause Dimitri is easy on the eyes, but neither him or Beth really seem to have the experience behind them to run the team.

Also, from your above comment, Ros would totally be awesomer! I kinda hope that there is some afterlife somewhere with Ros, Adam, Jo, Danny and various other MI5ers all hanging out playing poker or something.

I think you're right about the guys. They seem to have a shelf life, don't they? XD (I think Tom is still my favorite.)

Maybe Lucas was married to Maya? I dunno. I'd forgotten about that too. :D

I sensed Alec would be a new character - they often introduce a new one as someone else is going out. I wouldn't mind seeing more of Alec. He seemed like an interesting character.

And yes! The big poker game in the sky! :D
